Where does it shows, in the central panel or in that small digital panel behind the wheel between speed/rpm?
    Gaucho: Hi
To turn-on "Display ambient temperature" place a tick in the Bit 3 box. When you do this the descriptor "Display 'Ambient temperature'" turns blue in color and a "1" appears in the Binary box in the position that I have shown with an arrow (see picture below) The hexadecimal value of Byte 10 will also increase by 8.

When the facility is activated, the temperate is shown in the part that I have circled in the picture below (i.e. 20.0 C)

Also, is it possible to monitor tire pressure since it has some kind of sensor which tells you when there's a pressure drop in any of the tires?

    Thanks
The tyre pressure warning is done via the abs sensor and looks for differential in wheel speed and does not contain in wheel tpms sensors.

If I have understood your situation correctly then here are the relevant Leuchte-channels and the changes that you might consider making:

Left outer tail lamp (brake light)
    • ENG116956-ENG116261-Leuchte20BR LA71-Dimmwert CD 20 current value 28 - change to lower nu8mber

    Left inner tail lamp
    • ENG116959-ENG116314-Leuchte23SL HLC10-Dimmwert AB 23 current value 28 -change to lower number

Right outer tail lamp (brake light)
    • ENG116957-ENG116280-Leuchte21BR RC8-Dimmwert CD 21, current value 28 -change to lower number

    Right inner tail lamp
    • ENG116960-ENG116333-Leuchte24SL HRA65-Dimmwert AB 24, current value 28 -change to lower number

Of course you will need to enter the magic number 31347 as the security access code before attempting to make thiese changes

    Don

PS: A consequence of making these changes will be that the Single-Sided-Parking-Light facility will also dim to the number that you have selected (the two outer tail lights perform SSPL). If this is a problem, please advise and I will work-out a further set of changes that decouples SSPL from the normal parking light activity
Awesome thanks! Captured my issue exactly! I don't use single sided park light (not even sure what or why you would?) so that will work fine. What percentage are stock R leds on? I read 20 somewhere I recall...

Jim: The Aussie Golf R that I have in my database has the Dimmwert level for the parking lights on the tail fittings set to a factory value of 10. But LEDs are like humans - not all are created equal! It really depends on the type of LED, its manufacture, the value of the ballast resistor and the fitting reflector.

thnk you! my car came from factory with that temperature displayed there... I thought it was the outside temperature because it's always the same as in the central console.. is that wrong?

Yes, I can hear you thinking "it's not a big thing" and you're right, but a major aspect of climate control that I sense when driving (besides the obvious change in temperature), is the sound of the fan as it changes speed from time-to-time. This often leads me to think- what's the fan doing?

Anyway, to satiate my constant curiosity, I reinstated the fan speed indicator using the following simple tweak (which I found by sheer accident whilst browsing through the "auto hvac" module). I can vouch that it works.

Restore fan speed indicator in "Auto" mode
    (1) Select 08-auto HVAC
    (2) Select 07-Long Coding
    (3) Go to Byte 11
    (4) Enable bit 6 (shown in screen above). Exit the screen
    (5) If all goes well, you should get the screen above with the value of byte 11 changing to hex 40 (i.e. hex40=binary 0010 0000).
Note down the "Current Coding" value and the "New Coding" value as a record of the change (or take a screen-shot)
Press Do It! and exit the VCDS software
    (6) Switch climate control to "auto" mode, wait a bit for the fan to start-up and you should get-back the fan speed indicator (as per pic above-my appolgy for the dusty camera lense)

can anyone confirm me if I can do that with 12.12 vcds vag com?

^^^ Gaucho: That's a very disappointing question since it strongly suggests that you are using a fake cable!

So - the only correct answer has to be to either update the software to Ross-Tech's latest version (which is ver16.8.4) - if you are using a genuine RT cable. Otherwise - throw the fake cable into the rubbish bin (because that's where it belongs) and stop supporting the trade of Intellectual-Property theft! Buyers of fake cables are as complicit as are sellers in this fraud!

what do you mean, the cable is original, but I've bought it like 2 years ago.
