yep, those 2 Brake/Indicator RED LEDs are suppose to turn ON when my brakes are not applied. somehow they're off and i have a feeling ti's something i need on VCDS a while ago.

fonsii: The puzzle gets more interesting! I wonder whether the missing LED segment is a simple Leuchte priority conflict issue - I've not heard of this before, but I suppose that it's possible (perhaps).

Generally with conflicts, one function becomes more dominant, but from agentthumb's video it looks like this segment contains either a multi-colored LED, or it has two different colored LEDs. This might result in a dead segment when a Leuchte programming conflict can't be resolved -but I'm guessing.

Have you ever made any VCDS changes to the tails? If so, please describe these

Please don't PM to ask questions about coding, or vehicle repairs. The better place to deal with these matters is on-line, in the forum proper. That way you get the benefit of the expertise of the wider forum! Thank you.

yep. two coloured LEDs. one for indicator and one for brakes. brakes work, indicator work, driving in general not work, i have Scandinavian DRL on now, but before (at night without braking) and now still no red light on until braking.

i have done VCDS changes, and i am trying to recall what i did to it. I think it's something i did while i was at the mechanic borrowing his vcds cable...maybe i should have a look at the adaption of a stock golf R to get an idea where i went wrong. fun times!

fonsii: I developed a BCM compare spreadsheet (see HERE) that contains an Aussie R adaptation map listed in column D - enjoy !!

PS: It's better that you download the spreadsheet rather than view it on-line - dropbox can't manage my format

    VAG 14.10 Cable

Happy to lend to anyone who wants it. PM me and we'll work it out.

I've used this cable and the v14 software to make the following updates to my April 2015 build, June delivered Golf R:

    • Traffic Information
    • Windows auto close when raining
    • Auto air recirculation

This is one I have, except it's the older version 14.10 one: VAG-COM Original VCDS 15.7 Software + VAGCOM 15.7 USB Cable (For Audi, Seat, Skoda, VW Cars)

    Lending VAG COM cable

Happy to lend mine. It's the Total Car Diagnostics one. I have both the v14.10 and the later v15.7.

I used the 14.10 one to enable traffic, auto air recirculation & auto windows up in rain on my (4/15 build) Golf R.
