Thanks Polar B: But just to be clear - the tweak instructions aren't mine. They were first provided by DMC on VWVortex (see HERE.) My apology to DMC for my failure to acknowledge the original author on the ODB11 forum.

The allowable entries are Mode not active (factory default), no request, stage 1, stage 2, stage 3.

I've not played with this channel, so I'm not sure what it does - perhaps someone else can comment?

I have a completely stock wolf R and also have this problem. I've never played around with the coding so potentially a defect with my car.

Is there a standard setting I can change? Couldn't find anything myself.

That's the default setting so nothing wrong with it.

If you wanted to change it you can use the coding provided couple of posts above

    1. Select the control module at address hex52 and then select Advance Measurement.
    2. Click the boxes for the variables shown on the right-side of the screenshot below and if your car is fitted with a memory module, you should see the values in the left-side of the screenshot below. (Note: the "X" and "Y" coordinates may differ - but the values can't be 255 (which is HexFF) and 046 and 047 MUST be as shown)

If your car isn't fitted with a memory module, the results of the Advanced measurement should be as below (which is the result for the driver's side door control module on my car)

I've got a MY16 and I leave the mirror control knob on L, and it seems I have the hardware installed in OBDeleven. Is the passenger mirror supposed to dip as soon as I put her in reverse? I swear that isn't happening but I'll stare at it in the morning VCDS (VAG-COM) codes and programmable options for Golf Mk7

You actually need to set the mirror to the position you want it to dip to.

    Follow these steps:

    1. Set knob back to 0
    2. Put car in reverse.
    3. Set knob to L
    4. Adjust mirror to the dipped position you want.
    5. Test this has worked by turning the knob back to 0, the mirror should return to driving position.
    6. Turn the knob back to L, the mirror should dip to your set position again.

If you leave the knob on L, the mirror will stay dipped for a little while when you go from R to D. It will return to normal position after you drive forward for a bit. It will automatically go to dipped position the moment you go to R.

Isaacinsoll: What agenttumb is saying is entirely correct if your car has the steering wheel on the right-hand side of the car. Most folk here are from Australia, but I note that you haven't indicated your country on your information panel (albeit the piture of the mirror switch on your post does look like a RHD car)

Anyhow, if you are not from these parts and your steering wheel is on the left-side of the car, Simply replace "L" with "R" in Agentthumb's instructions.

    Don

PS: Have you enabled Mirror Dip in the menu ?
Press CAR button, then select Setup from the lower RH screen (looks like a cog), then select Mirrors and wipers, then enable Mirror Dip
