I have just activated this (off road display) appears to be working well, much the same as the set up I had in my Touareg.
To access the dials shown on the above top right pictures you need to swipe the dials up or down. By default they only display the compass. I have elevation, compass and tyre direction displayed but there is also oil and water temp.
Didn't have time to go through all the programs but the Adaptation 10 have some interesting stuff to play around with on the MIBII.

Flipper Dog - Many thanks for the quick feedback and the additional instructions. Great to hear that the tweak went well. I've been looking at the range of adaptation channels in the new MIBII out of general interest (I don't have a MIBII) and I agree that there are some very intriguing channel descriptors in the control module.

If you want to see how VW codes the MIBII units in overseas models, I've put together an Admap compare spread-sheet showing a number of vehicles from around the world. It might help in your further experimentation. Download my spread- sheet HERE (it's better to download the file rather than read it on-line because dropbox can't handle my formatting)

    Cheers

Please don't PM to ask questions about coding, or vehicle repairs. The better place to deal with these matters is on-line, in the forum proper. That way you get the benefit of the expertise of the wider forum! Thank you.

    Thanks DV52 and Morde.
coding works fine, i tried to activate the SportHMI 261, 263 as per a Seat and nothing happen on the MIB2, i activated all of the SportHMI options and still nothing, pretty sure it needs something activated in the Car_Function_List as well just like the off road display.
"Forced induction" sounds like some sort of sexual assault.
i drive a Golf 7R tuned by APR + exoticars

Hi Guys and greetings from germany,
I hope my English is better than I think it is .

@DV52, thanks for acknowledge me as the author. I will also answer your last mail in the next days, i need to find some time to translate all the stuff from the "Volkswagen english-german mix" to english
if you need an admap of my 5F control module for your comparison, just let me know.
i also have a sheet with meaning (and translation) of the 5F adaptions and functions. For now, mostly in german.
    Four examples:

    Car_Function_Adaptions_Gen2 Car_Function_List_BAP_Gen2 Car_Function_List_CAN_Gen2 Meaning
ugdo UGDO_0x14 Universal Garage Door Opener (Garagentoröffner)
    VPS_0x0B Visual Parking Assist (Umfeldbeobachtungssystem)
    BCmE BCmE_0x23 consumer comfort (Komfortverbraucher)
pdc parking_assist_0x0A PDC_audio_lowering park distance control / parking assist

    @tuzii and elastica_junky:
For activation of the performance monitor (SportHMI) we need an update/security key from VW. It is not possible to enable it only with coding ("Software as Product" (SWaP)). With this key your dealer can activate the performance meter. For now (in Germany), it is not possible to activate it but VW released the new Volkswagen MK7 GTI "Clubsport" about 3 weeks ago. You can order the clubsport since 2 weeks. (Volkswagen Konfigurator - jetzt Wunschmodell konfigurieren) The new GTI should have the performance monitor by default. I think we have to wait until the GTI finally arrives at the customer. Then it's just a matter of time until "normal" GTI or R models can activate it.

@all please feel free to ask me, if you have questions

Thank you so much Morde. I appreciate your patient and effort to the all the golf mk7 owners. Your English is great, and English is not my first language either. Hopefully we can get more hidden features tweaks from you guys. Million thanks.

Morde: I'm glad that you have replied - I was getting mighty uncomfortable accepting messages of gratitude for your tweak (I was just the messenger)!

Thank you also for taking the time to look-over my document (my German is woeful- but we both did the best that we could)

Yes, I would very much like to get a copy of the admap for your 5F module. I'm very interested to see how it compares with the coding in the other countries - please send it to my email address. I promise to include your data into the spread-sheet and send you back an updated version of the file

    VCDS Cabin Lighting Always On

    Hey guys,
I know i'm a noob and I think i've done something horrible. I was trying out some of the things like the windows going up if it rains and driving school mode and stuff, and when I finished, i went for a drive and noticed my lights inside the car on the roof are on, and are staying on.

Front and back, pushing the switches makes no difference.

    I have a 2015 MY15 Golf R.

I'm not sure what option I changed and I didn't know about the log thing until now. Does anyone know what setting that is or what I might have done. I feel so bad right now. I dont know how I did it, I didn't think I changed anything other than what was written and I went and undid all of them and its still on..

    Hopefully someone knows something.

    Thanks

Thanks you guys. The offroad gauges are great and they seem to be working fine on my Golf R. One question. At what oil twmperature does your oil gauge register an actual value? This morning, the oil temp gauge in the MFD reached 56 C (short commute today) but the oil temp gauge in the Offroad Monitor still showed three dashed lines. I found that a bit odd.
