VCDS (VAG-COM) codes and programmable options for Golf Mk7

Hi, has anyone succeeded in setting HBA to early. Hydralic brake assistant. It asks for security code and both 40168 or 20103 doesn't work.

I am trying to get smooth start offs while auto hold is on. I heard if we set HBA to early should give a smooth start off.
Please correct me if I am wrong n guide me to achieve this.

Edit: is this actually hill start assistant not HBA? hill start assistant accepted 20103 and I managed to set to early. Felt smooth start off. But what are the consequences of this mod, has anyone experienced issues with this mod?

My guess (and it's a pure guess) is to revert the settings in Byte 1, Bit 0, and then try re-setting the Bit again - can't think of anything else!
I've played around with it and still not 100%... Just seems odd. The guys at Ross-Tech said they have heard of this before but that it is about it. Right now I have it disabled until I can try some more things. I need to look at the adaptation channel maps for the inst cluster from a GTI (my understanding those come stock w/ the gauge sweep). My guess is it is something in the boot order for the inst cluster that prevents it from working every time. Again, this is just me thinking out loud.

On mine it said 3 days — just as the display said.

Today I tried resetting with VCDS — the times and distances are easy enough to change and they are accepted, but the MFD display doesn't change.

It's now showing "Service Now!" on both MFD and screen, and so far I've not been able to make it go away.

Not only that, it over-rides all screens bar reverse camera and parking sensors.

Down near the bottom of the adaptation list there's an option to clear all service displays (or it might be entries — I forget in moments these days), but without knowing what it'll do I'm not going to use it.

Just booked it in at the dealer's for Thursday morning — they now say it'll take about an hour and a half (I'd have thought five minutes, but...)

The nag screen clearance worked a treat — thanks to all involved (wish I were half as smart.)

Idle: that's strange, normally, all you need to do is to change the distance and elapsed time channels (unless you have ESI (see my previous post) in which case you will need to reset the ESI channel.

Here's how Ross Tech say that it should be done on a 5G/AU (i.e. mk7) vehicle SRI RESET

    Warning Message on startup

Hey guys, did some searching and couldn't find an answer. But every time I turn on my MK7 with the discovery head unit, I always get a warning message which they programmed in from factory that you need to tap OK.

As you can Imagine, extremely annoying, is there a way to turn this off. Traditional methods or VCDS.

I'll get a photo of it soon, if no1 knows what I'm talking about.

Back here from blighty with another request please.

AS I have the rear view camera on my GTD with the Discover Nav Pro, it's always really annoyed me that when selecting reverse and camera activates and the image pops up on screen, that the left 1/4 of the screen (with the aerial view of the car) is masked out by a dark grey background meaning you can't see the camera feed. It disappears after about 4-5 seconds but it's really annoying if I want to reverse quickly.

I've seen some youtube videos where when they put the car in reverse, the aerial car view on the left has a completely transparent background from the off (i.e. not having to wait for it to disappear). Is this a hardware change to the camera of something that can be programmed in VCDS - it would really save my sanity.

Looks like success, many thanks for the link (an my father were here, he would thank thee also.)

Shall joyfully cancel the dealer appointment in the morning.

Yes, I do have ESI — that was the snag. Hadn't realised it needed resetting.

You must have searched badly. It's in the last few pages of the 40 page VCDS thread

    Hi DV52,

I have 2015 103tsi highline. I tried to follow your instructions carefully last night to perform auto rain Close in the following order.
Part 1: Auto RainClose - Adaptation Channel Changes
Part 2: Auto RainClose - Coding Changes
Part 3: Auto RainClose - In-Car, setup procedures

Sequence that worked for me is Parts 2,1 and 3. Thanks for the tip in the original post under feedback.

MRG_AU: I find feedback like yours to be very informative (much appreciated). Whilst the tweak instructions are pretty complex, I might try to reverse the sequence as per your post - thanks again for the reply!
