    Hi zloybob,
I've been breaking my brain on this 0388 firmware wlan thing... Would it help if we compared our long coding and adaption channels to see where our differences are? I'm sure it's an easy fix.

I will mess some more with this byte. Previously, only byte 18 seemed to influence the specific type of car (GTI or standard).
Chillout - great GIF!! Here's some other options that you might want to try!

PS: Is it really that cold in the Netherlands!!

Hey Chillout, e-manager and Hybrid disappears from the bottom menu after the modification?

Can't get the rain closing tweak to work...went thru DV52s guide and tried everything. Just does not work. Mines a my15 R. Other tweaks have worked fine. Very frustrating. Any advice?

From what I've read it appears that some markets require either activation with a dealer tool or VCD Pro.

Let me know how you get on with that. I did the same thing, showed them the option was there (it was there from the factory, I didn't enable it myself) showed them videos of it working on other cars. They got in touch with VW Germany and were told it should be enabled or even in the menu and they removed it!

jazzyjames: Sorry to read about your difficulties. It's little solace I know, but you aren't alone in not being able to get this tweak working on a mk7.

If you still want to persevere, there are some suggestions that I can make, but I stress that these are just guesses that I have put together after chatting with a colleague in Germany (mercifully, my colleague's English is much better than my German)

Suggestion 1:Ross Tech have made many changes to their software since I wrote the tweak instructions. For example, the current VCDS software version allows the user to perform a "soft reset" of the control module on-the-fly. This facility wasn't available on the version that I used to write-up the tweak (compare the screen shots in my instructions with the picture below).

What might be worth trying is to reset the BCM after each adaptation channel change (my VCP cable does this as a standard feature). This is done by ticking the "soft reset" box (circled) then Doit! tab - see picture below.

Suggestion 2: My understanding is that similar problems were experienced with the Skoda Octavia 3, which is also built on the same MQB platform as the mk7 and it used the same RLS/RLHS/RLFS. I'm told by my German colleague that the way that this problem was solved (for the case of the Occy 3) was to only enable Byte 0, Bit 2 (i.e. not activate Byte 0, Bit 1). On the Audi A3 (8V), again which was also built on the MQB platform and again the same RLS/RLHS/RLFS, the tweak worked by using the opposite order of Bits in Byte 0 (i.e. Enable Bit 1, not activate Bit 2)

You cold try either/both of these permutations

As I said, these suggestions are long-shots

    Don

PS: If you try these suggestions, I will include your feedback on the tweak instructions
