But you mentioned that it might be a problem with my RT version, my hardware version is H24 and software is 0241, device part number 3Q0035846. Does this help diagnose the problem?
Thanks.
Harry: Just had a PM from Kiaorana where he said that he used his laptop with the 240Volt charger connected whilst he was doing the tweak. This explains why he was getting weird screens - because of the earth loops. It's a well known problem with some cheaper laptop power supplies (no offense intended to Kiaorana).
In your case, given that there are no error messages in the auto-scan reports and because I'm aware of lots of other folk that have successfully implemented the tweak on a MIBII, I'm tempted to believe that the problem lies with RDS on your radio, rather than TMC.
TMC uses the standard Radio Data System (RDS) that is embedded in FM stations (albeit only a few FM stations in the major cities in Australia have the TMC encryption service). Generally, RDS is responsible for providing the information displayed on FM transmissions like the name of the artist, or the song title. So, when you listen to FM stations, do you get this information displayed on your screen? You also have to enable TP on your radio menu (I assume that you have done this)
Telling the dealer about your problem most likely will do nothing - I would be very happy to be proven wrong. These tweaks are not sanction by the good Burghers at VW and I suspect that the dealer will say that TMC is not a standard feature of mk7s and perhaps they will warn you that your warranty is at risk - which is absolute nonsense!

Please don't PM to ask questions about coding, or vehicle repairs. The better place to deal with these matters is on-line, in the forum proper. That way you get the benefit of the expertise of the wider forum! Thank you.
