While I am at it here is the link to the controller map for 5F information electronics (too big for post!) any chance someone with app connect enabled could do the same so we can compare!

Not sure if this is the right place but randomly the auto open/close on the drivers side window does not function, where you press the button down and the window winds the whole way down?

I made some VCDS tweaks, like auto rain closing etc, just wondering if there is a way to reset everything to defaults to check nothing is messing with the window auto close/open?

Jonoz, I have the same issue, but up to this point, have attributed it to the way the driver side button is tucked away in an awkward corner, and I just can't get a proper deep press in to trigger the auto open/close function.

What year model is yours? Mine is MY15.

Yeah MY15, I definitely feel it doing the deep press but it just dosent do anything both open and close.

Interesting. Have you got a scan of your driver side electric? Would be good to compare ours against a MY14 or 13 car just to see if the hardware and software changed.

    Here's mine:

      Jonoz: Hi.

Intermittent faults are a bitch to find and fix, but you might try the following:
      1. Check if convenience opening and closing is set correctly
      1. Press the CAR button on the RH side of the Discover media Unit
      2. Press the set-up panel on the bottom RH side of the screen
      3. Press the Opening and Closing panel
      4. Make sure that the settings for Convenience opening option is set to All windows
      5. Exit the screen

    2. Check the codinglog.txt file on your laptop. This will enable you to validate the VCDS tweak changes that you have already (please don't be offended-I'm not suggesting that they were incorrectly made). If you are not aware of how to do this, I wrote a short primer on the process which you can find HERE

    3. Reset
As for your question about how to reset everything, you can reset the MENU functions in the car using the following process:

    1. Press the CAR button on the RH side of the Discover media Unit
    2. Press the set-up panel on the bottom RH side of the screen
    3. Select Factory Setting panel (it's the very last entry on the list)
    4. On the Factory Setting screen, select Reset all Settings
    5. Press the Reset panel

However, If your question was about how to reset the tweak changes that you previously made, you can use the information in the Codinglog.txt file to roll-back any modified coding, or adaptation channels.
    Cheers and good luck
    Don

PS: As I write in my paper, the codinglog.txt file can be a bit confusing if you have made lots of changes. If you post-up a copy where it can be downloaded, I'm sure that someone here will parse the data for you so that it is more readable

Please don't PM to ask questions about coding, or vehicle repairs. The better place to deal with these matters is on-line, in the forum proper. That way you get the benefit of the expertise of the wider forum! Thank you.

This is easy to fix and has nothing to do with VCDS. Simply hold the button down and wait till the window rolls down completely. Not roll the window up all the way in one go. Now one touch opening and closing should work fine.

Ill give it a shot! Funny thing is the settings don't seem to do anything as if I set Conven. Opening to Off all the other windows still auto open.

Bizmo: Sorry to read that your troubles continue.

But not sure that comparing auto-scan reports will add much value in solving your problem. Here is the auto scan report for address Hex17 from an aussie MY16 TSI Highline (thanks chendo)

    Address 17: Instruments (J285) Labels: 5G0-920-XXX-17.clb
    Part No SW: 5G1 920 740 A HW: 5G1 920 740 A
    Component: KOMBI 207 7640
    Coding: 27A419182F98000800886A095400000000000000
    Shop #: WSC 01357 011 00200
    ASAM Dataset: EV_DashBoardJCIMQBAB 009005
    ROD: EV_DashBoardJCIMQBAB_SK37.rod
    VCID: 244C2BA02F2A581E11-8070

For reference, your same control module report was:
    Address 17: Instruments (J285) Labels: 5G0-920-XXX-17.clb
    Part No SW: 5G1 920 940 A HW: 5G1 920 940 A
    Component: KOMBI 202 6420
    Coding: 27A519002780260001886A011400000000000000
    Shop #: WSC 01357 011 00200
    ASAM Dataset: EV_DashBoardVDDMQBAB 009046
    ROD: EV_DashBoardVDDMQBAB_AU37.rod
    VCID: 266D189E595EAC0E07-8072

The instrument control module in my car is a 5G0 series and yours is the 5G1 series.
I know that the security code works on 5G0 modules. And, a few pages back in this thread, agentthumb implemented the tweak and he didn't report a security code error. Agentthumb's control module details for address Hex17 are ;SW:5G1-920-740 HW:5G1-920-740. This suggests that the security code does work on series 5G1 modules

    cheers
    Don

PS: Thanks also for the Hex5F information. It was good to be able to compare your adaptation map for the new generation infotainment unit with it's Australian counterpart. VW's new MIBII certainly looks like a very impressive beast! It seems to be functionally rich where apps are concerned and very "hot-spot/WAN" friendly
