VCDS 5F Long Coding for Golf 7 Discover Pro

Hey everyone, I'm new to the forum and apologise if this has been asked before. I'm in New Zealand and bought a 2014 Golf 7 1.4tsi wagon with r-line kit. The car is a Japanese import. I'm in the process of trying to change the radio and navigation to work in New Zealand. I have managed to sort the radio out but I'm having trouble with the maps. I have downloaded the new maps and tried to install them, but get an error that says ROW doesn't match JPN. I have the Discover Pro radio. My question is this... does anyone have screen shots of their 5F long coding that displays the label for each bit under each byte? For some reason I can't see the details and information for my 5F long coding. If I could see the options for the bytes, then maybe I can ensure that I have the correct bits selected.

Michael - My apology for launching into techno-speak but in the world of VW, SATNAV uses an activation mechanism called SWaP (Software as Product). The activation key is called FeC (Feature enablement Code) and the entire system is tailored to the car's VIN.

Hold down the Menu button for several seconds, and you'll get a menu option that let's you view the FeCs that are loaded in your car

My understanding is that the SATNAV "license" is country specific - so you will need to buy a new "New Zealand" license from your local dealer - alas!!

    Don

PS: you could try changing Byte 3 - but as I said above, it wont work without a new activation code in firmware:

Please don't PM to ask questions about coding, or vehicle repairs. The better place to deal with these matters is on-line, in the forum proper. That way you get the benefit of the expertise of the wider forum! Thank you.
