    US Spec Golf VII

The basic Golf in the USA will get the 1.8L turbo motor with 127kw/250Nm.

For once it seems that the Yanks aren't getting ripped off.

They have to wait for year before they get it though.

We may get this motor in future Jetta/Beetle models....

I think it's Us here getting ripped off.

I could get a brand new Golf GTI for 24k (although US dealers deal a lot, got a quote from a VW dealer where I used to live, for a base GTI for $22995) at a 2.9%. APR financing for 66 months
And a Golf R for MSRP $37k (my quote for $34995) which could also get the 2.9% for 66 months, plus $1000 loyalty cash for being a current VW owner. Plus both with a manual tranny, REJOICE!!! Probably the only thing I miss about living there. Could have a Golf GTI loaded for what we paid for a Polo haha (with sat Nav and other options we added). Sucks that we can get charged so much more. But of course the living wage is much much better here, can't imagine making 7 bucks an hour, so I guess it's relative eh? But if only we could get the same cars at the same prices but here, lol but then everyone would be driving around R's! Yeah I wouldn't give up Australia for anywhere, amazing country! And proud to soon become an official Australian!
