Its a Passat R-line tsi 206. Essentially the exact same engine as the gold r. i've put it here as most modders are golf owners and the Passat forum is a lot quieter regarding all mods/experience. But all golf r parts fit mine, if we look at the EA888 gen 3 engine....

Thanks for the help h100vw ive looked at the web page. Once i have fill diagnosis i will know what i need to do, thanks for the info on the IS38

We might have a few solutions for you, IS38 or hybrid.

525 is pretty laggy, 4K spool doesnt make it much of a street car.

i set off drove about 400 metres and floored it out of a junction about 90% should of let it warm up a bit, but its a new car (6 months)
my drive way is on an incline so im wondering if enough oil got to it. Just racking brains. Obviously dont want to have this happen again. It the days leading up there were smells coming through the vents, i thought it was exhaust but nope, oil from the turbo. I took it to a garage and had arranged to have it back in a week........3 days later.... boom.

These things should last more than 6 months regardless of the tune.
    Maybe just got unlucky.
I don’t know if warm up procedure makes a difference.
Plenty of non turbo cars get driven hard from cold without issue, warms them up quickly...
But not advisable to get on the turbo boost without the coolant reaching operational temperature as advised by my dealer.

Could be time for a Hybrid? We have IS20 based ones that really perform well, although the IS38 480 is probably where you'd go really.

Available as journal, like stock, or with ball bearing CHRA. Everything is new inside, not just wheel swaps.

I have recovered a hot wheel and most of a shaft from the resonator on a a MK7R after a failure. Was a lot smoky on the dyno as we tuned it. (decatted).

message the FB page if you'd like to see more details.

    Gavin
