Things you DO like about your Mk.7

    Hi all,

Thought i'd start a thread about what I like about my Mk.7, which I have to say is pretty much everything really.

I did have some wiper issues initially, amongst other minor niggles, but they've sorted themselves out, or have been sorted by the dealer.

I love the look of the thing, every time I get out of it, I turn and look at it as I lock it, I cant help myself!

Love the way everything feels, and the way it stops and turns. With just on 3000k's on the clock now, I feel more comfortable giving it some stick, and it really hooks in!

Gave it a quick wash today, was a beautiful day in Melbourne. The VW 'Motorsport' wheels are a bit of a bugger to keep clean!

Did I mention I love the way it looks? hehe

I love tlhe look too. I keep staring at mine too . I was stopped in the car park on Saturday by a couple who wanted to tell me how great it looked. One of the best looking cars on the road they said. Who was I to disagree.
I love the infotainment system, Bluetooth, Navigation etc
    I love the economy.
    I love the punchy engine.
The DSG is fantastic when going down hill. Usually auto's run away from you down hill forcing the brakes to be ridden but the DSG holds a gear to slow you down. Very impressed.
I love how comfortable it is to sit in.
I love the parking sensors and reverse camera.
I love the radio station logo's.
If I knew how to post a photo I would lol.

I love the lack of axel tramp when you floor it, it just goes now.
I love the indicator stalks smooth feeling, makes the car feel different from all the other cars you've used ever.
I love everything else said above. (But why did you mention the hard to clean alloys? This is a love thread!)

I got the DA pack. ACC is awesome.
Love the Sport option on the DSG gear lever (is that standard ?) A flick back of 2 cm and it turns the 90 TSI into a rocket ship.
15.5km per litre on my first tank - awesome result.
The only thing it is taking a while to get used to is that pause on take off with the DSG, but I find a little bit more accelerator on take off seems to sort it out.

From memory I paid $1700 for 4 wheels, and $1200 for the tyres, which for 18" Continentals seemed like a bit of a bargain.

    Cheers

I love theway the DSG doesn't run away from you going down steep hills. Slight brake pressure and the car drops gear and hold it. Very impressive.

I'm aware its standard on most new vehicles if not all and hence not necessarily a Golf specific thing......but I love my Speed Limiter option. Been fined once so now thats goingt o get some use....

The speed limiter is also great for reducing fuel consumption. Switch on the dash board fuel consumption meter and then enable the speed limiter you will notice that due to the constant rpm the fuel consumption drops. I know that if you have a supper steady foot you could get the same results but I'm to old for that.

Only down side with speed limiter is if get into sticky situation and you need to accelerate to avoid a situation. Also I would not recommend using the speed limiter too much when running in the engine.

The dash board fuel consumption meter is also great because you can learn how and when your car use fuel and adjust your foot to best archive fuel economy.

Other great things are the auto hold and the start stop system. Great for slow moving traffic and you can rest foot and when you turn of the car it auto engages the hand break.

I like the way the set cruise control stays on even when using the clutch and changing gears (I have a manual)
Also the auto on / off electric parking brake is great although I'm starting to forget to pull the handbrake on in other cars I drive.
I also like the auto hill holder for when it is stopped facing downhill as well as uphill.
