2013 golf 1.4tsi high line DSG.
I’ve been noticing recently that when accelerating up to and cruising along at about 50kmh the car has a gentle lurching motion as if it wants you to keep accelerating, it causes a gentle rocking motion that is strong enough to feel. The car is in 5th gear when it does this.
Yesterday, I also noticed the acceleration was really funny when accelerating from 60 to 100kmh in 6th gear, it seemed really juddery and when you looked at the rev counter it didn’t moved smoothly, it kept jumping up in stepped intervals of say 200rpm until I eased off the accelerator and it changed up to 7th gear to cruise.
I have in the last 6 months had a new clutch and also the gear selector rods replaced.
TIA. Nathan
Nathan: Hi
My advice - save yourself the angst of guessing!! There's a much better and generally a lot more accurate method for identifying the cause of these sorts of problem; "use the force Luke" - or in this case, use the in-built, self-diagnostic facility that was designed exactly for this purpose.
Of course, you need access to a diagnostic device like VCDS, or OBDeleven
If you don't own such a device - this forum has a "pimping service" that connects consenting members (albeit, I'm not sure how many potentially "consenting members" live across-the-ditch). See link below:

Please don't PM to ask questions about coding, or vehicle repairs. The better place to deal with these matters is on-line, in the forum proper. That way you get the benefit of the expertise of the wider forum! Thank you.
