Yep, the government has a funky scheme which heavily restricts vehicle ownership through extremely high duties, tariffs, taxes and fees.
on roads (with certificate of entitlement), i would have thought it'd be more.
from what i remember from a car mag i got when i was over there:
- bmw 328i = $270,000
- hsv commodore = $470,000
- mk6 gti = $240,000
- honda jazz 1.3L = $118,000
- some piece of sh7t malaysian car, the cheapest new car you could get on the road in singapore = $95,000
car prices are similar to here, it's just that the government forks you with the COE.

Good thing Singapore has the most number of millionaires per square km.
They also have to crush the car when it becomes 10 years old, or pay a large sum of money.
