    Service Interval Golf R 7.5

I recently purchased a 2020 (20MY) Golf R7.5 which now has 25,500km on the clock. Still working my way around the car. Recently a message came up indicating a oil service was due in 28 days, now down to 13 days.

Clearly this is based on time since a previous service rather than kms travelled.

So do I need to act on this indication or wait for the kms to tick over. I know the car had its post delivery service when new but do not know when any interim service was carried out. As I said, I am still working my around the car and learning what is important and not so important.

    Thanks

Service intervals are 12 months or 15,000km WHICHEVER COMES FIRST.

EG Our car is 3 and a bit years old . has had its 45000km service has about 7000km on the ODO.

Always use VW APPROVED oils like Penrite Enviro+, Castrol Edge 5w 30LL 504-507 or similar No cheap rubbish

Thanks for that advice, it looks as if the car has been serviced by time - the car will be 4 years old next month with only about 26000km on it then. The dash advice ties in with annual services.

    Cheers

Just had the Golf R serviced - 4 years and 26,000km so was given a 60,000km service. As the car is still under warranty I had it done at a dealer - $956 for oil, filter, pollen filter, spark plugs and a brake fluid flush . Brake pads and tyres half worn.

I asked them if they could turn off the stop start function and the safety message that comes up on the centre screen every few starts but they said it could not be done (maybe they are not allowed).

So anyone knows if I get a test book like OBD11 (not 2) can I turn these functions off or am I stuck with them?

    Thanks

Depending on the exact car it may be possible to code it out. Around 2020 they blocked it from being done

Coincides with a change in the model of lane assist camera which went either from a 2Q to a 3Q or other way around.

I did it on a 19 Tiguan but cant on a 21 Kamiq

However there is a cheater cable on Ali Express that can do it Cost less than an OBD scanner as well.

I have just learned to live with it and as in my B7 Passat just lift your foot off the brake a bit and engine will stay on and brake will still hold the car.
In fact if you learn to lightly brake early and just cruise up to traffic I can get it to never turn off. If it does i just lighten pressure and its all OK Someone on here in your local area should have an 11 and be able to help you

All possible changes for the MK7/7.5 Golf found on the interscam can be performed via VCDS. I have certainly done all the all the ones I wanted to make. For the Golf, its only from MK8 onwards that it becomes difficult.

Was referring to VW in general as I qualified in the next sentence. Cant do a lot on a 2020 Tig compared to a 2019 and was after they changed the camera model it seems. If they didnt do that on the Gold yes would be Ok

Which was a pointless reply since the thread was specifically for a Golf Mk 7.5.

There were issues prior to the Mk8. There were a number of features locked-out on the 7.5 which were available on the 7, including disabling stop-start. Had this issue on two 7.5s, along with my own car when different datasets from a late model Passat were uploaded to enable certain features via coding.

Cant be right according to another poster, but who is to know unless you try as the block out was introduced without fanfare and affected some cars but not others across the same platform. Was trying to be helpful but sometimes it doesnt pay
