Paul: hmm... OK - no gratuitous advice about compliance with the local road rules (I actually don't know if fog-lights are illegal in UK when there is no atmospheric mist).
For your question - consider the following:
- Fire-up VCDS software, connect to the dongle and go-to the 09-Cent. Elect. control module. Then go-to Security Access - 16 and enter the magic number 31347. Then go-to Adaptation - 10
- The 2 x Leuchte-sets for the front fog-lights are Leuchte12NL LB45 (left-side) and Leuchte13NL RB5 (right-side)
- Usually, the only function that is factory programmed for these lights is the fog-light facility itself. But- sometimes the car is factory-set to also operate Static-AFS (which is VW's name for the cornering-light CAN bus function)
- So, first - look @ the adaptation channels Leuchte12NL LB45-Lichtfunktion B 12 and Leuchte13NL RB5-Lichtfunktion B 13. If the settings for these channels is not active - simply change these to Tagfahrlicht and that's all that should be required
- If the existing settings for the 2 x adaptation channels above are Abbiegelicht links/rechts (this is the AFS setting) do the following:
- Leuchte12NL LB45-Lichtfunktion C 12 > Tagfahrlicht
- Leuchte12NL LB45-Dimmwert CD 12 > 100
- Leuchte13NL RB5-Lichtfunktion C 13 > Tagfahrlicht
- Leuchte13NL RB5-Dimmwert CD 13 > 100
Don
PS:Tagfahrlicht = Daytime Running Lights on newer VCDS software

Please don't PM to ask questions about coding, or vehicle repairs. The better place to deal with these matters is on-line, in the forum proper. That way you get the benefit of the expertise of the wider forum! Thank you.
