Oil top up in 2013 90TSI Golf

I have a 2013 Golf 90TSI, and it needs topping up after 3500km (at the bottom of the hatching on the dipstick). In the manual, it states the car should be using VW504 spec for the fixed service interval (15k, 12 months).

So Repco have 40% off Castrol oils this weekend, but they only have 5w-30 VW502 spec. Would it be OK to use this oil to top up? I don't expect to hit the 15k, so I will be taking the car back to service in November this year.

I would go straight to the dealership and have them top it up and make a note of it.

Vehicles on a fixed service interval may use either 502.00 or 504.00, though I prefer to use 504.00 for TSI engines.

I agree with the above post - drive straight to the dealership's workshop and have them top it up for you.

Going to the closest workshop is a bit of a pain (25km away) and is only open M-F. Seeing as I work M-F and ride a motorcycle to work (for parking reasons), it's actually a lot easier for me to just do my own top ups.

    Cheers for the info Diesel_vert
