    Res delete on a wagon

Forgive me for not going back through all 447 pages of the my 7 R thread (I’m calling for it to be locked as it’s making the forum unusable) so I’m going to start a new thread on something.

Has anyone done a res delete in a Mk 7.5 R wagon? I’m specifically looking at an otherwise stock exhaust - I’m aware that other exhaust mods often require the resonator to be left in for best results.

The consensus seems to be that it definitely worth doing on a hatch but the wagon is getting mixed reports.
    Looking for:- RS4 B7 Avant.
Current:- Amarok V6 Sportline; Mazda CX-9 Azami AWD
Previous - Mk 6 R manual; Mk 7 R manual; Passat 130 TDi Wagon. Mk 7.5 Wolfsburg Wagon.

I think you’ll find there’s a mix of opinions on the hatch as well.

Personally, I think res delete sounds rubbish and there’s too much drone, but if you want to do it, just do it. It’s cheap and you’re smart and use slip joints, you can always change it back.

Thanks danielb_c. Probably the most sensible answer I will get
I’ll do it when I get some free time and report back.

I have done it on my wagon with the OEM kit. Somehow the pipe doesn't fit properly with the supplied clamps (slightly wrong diameter). Took a bit of effort to make it not leak.

In any case it was droning on freeways too much for me and I've returned to stock.

Thanks DKC. I’ll leave mine alone or get a proper cat back system. Looks like the wagon system may not work as well due to not having flaps.

That said, did it drone on the freeway in ECO mode? I only ask as my staff commented recently that they can’t me arriving when I’m in ECO mode.

I never drive in eco mode so not sure. I drive in comfort/normal usually and couldn't stand it in any of those modes.

I’ve got a wagon with res delete. But I used xforce varex mufflers with remotes. So can open and close… hardly any drone in cabin. Cruised Sydney to Melbourne in comfort and no drone…
