Thread: Puddle of water under driver side carpet

Puddle of water under driver side carpet

So I just vacuumed my Mk7 R mats, and found the carpet in my driver's foot well to be damp.

On closer inspection, there's actually a large bubble of water stuck under the carpet. I press on it and it's like a hot water bottle. The water doesn't come through the carpet.

I heard the Mk6 had issues with the a/c condenser leaking onto the carpet. Is this what this is??

    Kind of concerning!

Might also want to check the sunroof drainage pipes (if you have one) as they were thought to be an issue when they clog up on the Mk6.

Back to the dealer with that one. Let us know what they find.

I've seen a car-bra as an aftermarket accessory but I've never seen a car incontinance pad advertised. For any entrepreneurs reading this - the idea is yours for free to take to market!
Please don't PM to ask questions about coding, or vehicle repairs. The better place to deal with these matters is on-line, in the forum proper. That way you get the benefit of the expertise of the wider forum! Thank you.

The very first Mk7's sold in Europe (normal models) had similar issues iirc

So the AC evaporator is on the driver's side on a RHD version? I find that hard to believe.

That makes no sense. What is the water inside of that would hold it as a "bubble" ?

No idea. The carpet must be fairly water tight. There's definitely a squishy bubble of water there. I'll try and take a video
