Is there anything happening to the class action that Kevvie talked about for Australia. It's all gone quiet

I'd also like to know. If a start has been made and things have gone quiet maybe it's time for others to kick it back into life. It would be great to know how far it has come or why it stopped. I'd be happy to assist. Not that i have any qualifications in the area, just a desire for social justice.

Has anyone approached VW Australia and had one repaired after their warranty has expired (in 'goodwill')?

    Hi DeeW
In 2010 I approached VW Australia re my 2008 N9 Polo just out of warranty for common issues and had lower control arm bushes and window power regulator replaced after their warranty has expired in 'goodwill'.
The dealer service advisor advocated for us as well and the Good Will invoice amounted to over $1,100.

Why would VW Australia not consider
Good Will for Thermostats/Water Pumps that continue to fail due to component being faulty?

    Cheers Al

1 To save VW's money by forcing owners to foot the bill, thus increasing profits for both VW and VW dealers
2 Because they don't want to admit that they are making and selling a faulty part
3 To punish owners that have their VW's serviced outside the official dealer network

    Thanks, gregozedobe,

I have taken faulty manufacture car issues to the ACCC and got offered a new car, only issue was there were no new cars in that specification.

So, has any owners with the faulty Thermostats/Water Pumps formally put a complaint to the ACCC?

Problem with a product or service you bought | ACCC

    Cheers Al

Curious if this has gone anywhere. If you're still after more signatures, I'll happily join.

Sorry all, I got locked out. Good luck to anyone trying to register these days with the random question about VW's. I tried every single model and they were all wrong, I only am here because one of my PC's still has something in the cache to log me in.

I think we have enough names now. I'll re-engage the legal firm and see what info they need, and will repost so people can PM me if still wanting to pursue.

I have a 2014 MK7 90 KW TSI and I had to replace the water pump Apr 2021. Daughter has a 2016 VW polo and replaced waterpump Sept 2022.
