    Poor Footwell airflow MK7 GTI

    Hi,

have meant to follow up on this for a long time and never got around to it. With summer here I'm feeling the lack of air again.

My Mk7 has terrible airflow into the front footwell areas.

Air from the front centre vents and side dash vents is good. Even if I disable the dash airflow and only leave footwell it is still worse than any vehicle I have owned.

Is this normal or something I should be having assessed at the dealer (god forbid)?

I want to be sure of my position before going to the dealer (see my rant below).

I have had 3 free services so far due to the pathetic efforts of my dealer to conduct basic maintenance. They even tried to deny damaged windows and tint under the industry guidelines which they kindly gave me to use against them in demonstrating their incompetence more clearly ("Independent expert" failed to examine my vehicle under the clearly stipulated conditions). This is Austral VW at Newstead. Unfortunately the other dealer nearby has the same arrogant attitude (why does VW think it is the hipster prestige "Apple" of Au car retailers?).

I just thought to check mine (2013 TDI Highline) with perhaps the same aircon.

The footwell airflow isn't strong, but can't say I'd ever noticed it lacking.

I did complain about very poor climate control at the first two annual services — was told "all normal".

This year I forgot to list the grievance and — guess what! — they fixed it.

The invoice says "air conditioner not working intermittently due to software issue."

It's now almost up to Toyota standard and quite adequate for my needs.

Nice work . Maybe worth having mine assessed then as it has been poor since purchase and I just kept ignoring it.

With AC on and recirc I can barely feel air around my feet. My old car would freeze bare feet.

Because the footwell vents are used for predominately for heating - not cooling.
