Thank you so much for your quick and detailed response. It's so easy once you know how to remove it - needless to say it came out without an issue!
wht90TSI: I hope Team_V doesn't get too upset if I steal his/her thunder (it's most definitely not a good thing to upset a super-moderator-LOL) !! But, the trick to removing the pollen filter is to GENTLY press down the three tabs at the top of the cover (not the tabs at the bottom). I have used a small steel ruler (or flat-head screwdriver )- get it between the cover tab and the mating tab on the base and lever the two apart (GENTLY). If you start at one end and lodge the tabs apart one-by-one, it shouldn't be too difficult. But be gentle!!
I've tried to show the tab locations on your pic, but it's not too clear.
The pic below shows the tabs a little better.
Hopefully the two pictures together will suffice

Please don't PM to ask questions about coding, or vehicle repairs. The better place to deal with these matters is on-line, in the forum proper. That way you get the benefit of the expertise of the wider forum! Thank you.

I ended up getting this filter from ECS Tuning for USD$15 because we also got some LED lights for the interior (another post). The instructions in the box came with good instructions for removing the panel which surprised me. The filter fits fine of course, and seems to do the job.
Thanks for the help and detailed instructions. If I wasn't buying other things from the States, then the filter was $AU40 from the dealer for the part, $56 installed.
