Paddle Shifters for non GTI/R cars

Hi guys just a bit of info to help out others looking for good quality paddle shifter extensions for their alltrack or other non gti/r car with paddle shifters fitted

I went through a few before i found a good set

1st set ordered before i got the car was incorrect size as i did not know the paddles were different then

    Attachment 33809

2nd set were a fit for paddles but they hit on the indicator stalks so please steer clear of these ones they are dangerous

3rd set fit ok and did not hit indicator stalks but they were cheap nasty and so small it was a waste of time having them on again don't waste your money on these

This is the difference between gti/r and alltrack/highline paddles the outer ones fit alltrack/highline and the inner ones are gti/r

Finally i found the correct ones at leyo motorsport in usa they are anodized aluminum strong sturdy come in silver/black/red
They are a really good size and fit to the paddles superbly cost was not cheap about $230 with shipping from USA
But its the best you can get no one makes replacement paddles for our models like you can get with the gti/r so this is it for us

    Wow, they look fantastic!
Another item to add to my growing list.

What would be good, would be if someone had a 3D scanner and 3D printer. Could churn out a few.

One thing to keep in mind with the taller extensions, they act as a lever, so if you tend to shift from the top where the plus and minus is, you put extra force for on the factory shifters and I've seen them break at the connection to the steering wheel. (Not just VW, but Subaru too)

If you shift further down close to the factory paddle, you'll be fine.

Is the reason the GTI/R paddles are different because their steering wheel is different or the stock paddle shifters are different?

I have a 162 Tig R line which has the flat bottom steering wheel and have been looking for paddle extensions, wondering if the ones you got would fit as my steering wheel is different.
