    Meeting Ross Kemp trumped last night's wheel post.. I should have floated an Extreme Golf series with him.

    Somebody posted that badge up elsewhere on here - I wasn't sure if it was just a late April Fools, apparently not.

    Thing is the VF based stuff was actually damn good for the price point, and most of the bogan crowd are now running around in jacked up dual cabs.

    I just spent a few days driving this bogan machine around some reasonably remote region of Australia, hence the pic on a deserted beach.
    Without admitting to any law-breaking, lets just say its very quick.
    Around 300 kW and nearly 600 Nm of torque ensures there's plenty of grins.
    And the lazy old 6.2 litre pushrod motor makes such a glorious growl.
    I agree, incredibly good value for around 50 kilo dollars.
    Current : 2017 Mk7 Golf R (most options) || 2012 Golf Mk6 TDi (few options)
    Gone : 2004 Bora V6 4Motion (few klms, all options)

    Plus a few kilo more for the modded exhaust.. although I understand VFII wasn't bad in that department (I'd spent some time driving a Walkinhaw fettled VF).

    Now we're left with NOx belching numpties blocking the right lane in their d-cabs.

    I've got the HSV GTS supercharged 6.2l V8 in the garage alongside the Golf R mk7. The sledgehammer and the scalpel.

    The best of both worlds.

    My last V8 was a VE SS-V circa 2007, angry but fairly agricultural compared to the refinements made to VF and then VFII, and I know the move to the 6.2 was a marked improvement as well.

    I'll keep an eye on what HSV does with the RHD conversions on Camaro, or how the market reacts when all the Mustangs start hitting the used section over the next few years. Although a current shape second hand C63 wagon would also work.
