If you want to smarten things up OEM go and grab the R Line 18s for sale on here - the simple twin five spoke looks great on the Golfs.

Of course if you can up the budget and go after market branded then we can have some fun..
I saw similar 5 spoke wheels on a Mercedes A class today and thought "I reckon they'd look nice on my Golf". I am actually unsure what the price range on wheels would be but my inclination is to put some RE003 rubber on whatever I buy, so I need to budget a few hundred for that. I also don't wanna look like too much of a wanker with my just above base model Golf.

Those wheels would look very smart on your blue ride for sure.

Otherwise the world is your oyster if you go after market, I'd just suggest grabbing something branded so you know it's of reputable quality. And if it happens to be something high end from OZ, BBS or HRE then let me know.

Stay classy and there's little chance of wanker status. 18s will generally work without a drop if they're not overly aggressive offset wise, and will still ride decently. Sounds like you don't want to be going above that anyway.

Some of the best rides in this monumental thread are 'base models' so don't let that stop you having fun.

Those R Line wheels do look nice, sadly they're in the wrong state. Had a quick look on eBay at aftermarket, there's some cool stuff there but not sure I can justify the money.

I'd be hesitant to lower as well, I have to be careful backing out of the driveway as it is because it'll occasionally slam the brakes on. It's my daily, so I have to be practical while still making it mine. First modification planned is some whiter halogens because the colour difference between the headlights and LED running lights is... unfortunate.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

Freight would be no more than $100..

Otherwise keep an eye out for other OEM 18s that come up as they will always complement the Golf.

Understood re: lowering - I've been down that road myself before and as much as I love the look I struggle to justify it on a daily these days.
