I want to think about wheels in a few months for my Mk7.5. Currently got the 16" Torontos. Not looking to increase in size too much, 18" would probably be my upper limit, don't want to ruin the ride or have to buy ridiculously expensive rubber.

Don't want to do anything illegal, so nothing that requires spacers or will sit outside the guards and don't want anything too ostentatious. The wheels (Lyon) on my Mk7 suited it but the facelift is a lot sportier and the wheels on it just look kind of wrong. I suspect this limits me quite a bit... Any suggestions?

    My new wheels. Speedy Cheetah 18 x 8 et45 on 235 x 40 x 18
might need some spacers on the back and maybe lowered springs.

    What's your budget?

If you want to smarten things up OEM go and grab the R Line 18s for sale on here - the simple twin five spoke looks great on the Golfs.

Of course if you can up the budget and go after market branded then we can have some fun..

Yep - with that design and the lip it would certainly look tougher with both those options, however need to weigh up the ride on the springs and the legal risk on spacers.

Geez, I disappear for 24 hours and suddenly we have VWW users doing wheels AND posting the proof.

    Thanks gillant and DU30!

Some Brazilian 20s - like other things it's good to look but something a size down is more practical:

I saw similar 5 spoke wheels on a Mercedes A class today and thought "I reckon they'd look nice on my Golf". I am actually unsure what the price range on wheels would be but my inclination is to put some RE003 rubber on whatever I buy, so I need to budget a few hundred for that. I also don't wanna look like too much of a wanker with my just above base model Golf.
