I came from 19 inch Santiago, and now on 18 inches.
18 inch rides tonnes better than 19".

I was really happy with my GTI on 18s, but did not get to ride in a 19 inch shod Mk7.

18s are cheaper, lighter and still look the goods - although 19s will look better with some wheel designs. If in serious doubt try and test drive a couple of Mk7s with both over the same road to see how they feel.

wasabiz, you ended up on VWR springs?

I do miss the looks of 19s tho, been keeping my eye out for team dynamic wheels or VWR.

Yeah I've been on vwr Spring since I had the Santiago. They've been really good so far. Thinking of going coilovers once the shock goes out, saw the price of each shock.... Not prepared to pay such price.

But by then, I'll most likely change car already. Trying to fight the devil's whispers right now.

Can't say I'm a big fan of them on the Mk7 - they were suited to the Mk6, but I reckon the Mk7 needs something with sharper lines.

I toyed with the VWR springs but was still scarred from my Mk6 experience. I really must get out in a Mk7 with them in at some point to see how they feel.

    What are those whispers saying..?

That's true what you said about them being in mk7, the curves on the spoke fits better on mk6. But I have seen a few that's done tastefully along with a lip.

The other side of mine is tugging me away to a 1 letter and 1 number car model from a different family The Official Mk7 Wheel Thread. But nothing is set right now, not until the waiting time has been reduced.
