I'll be parking a minimum of 1 metre from the kerb
I think I'd take the USA option and pick up a new set of four delivered with duties and taxes for around $2,400.

Like I mentioned earlier I had looked at a set myself, I think they look great on the Mk7, particularly to maintain the OEM look. Once the cost came up to that I knew I'd be sticking to OZ or BBS. No one was selling second hand at the time unfortunately, but well don't on jagging some!

Thanks Adam, good comparison, the lighting was the same when the top three were taken almost at the same time. And correct on standard fitment re: ED35.

I was referring to a new set available as desired. Obviously a local second hand set will be cheaper - but with only 200 odd sets delivered locally and most still sitting with the original car they don't come up often.

If I was shopping now I'd check in on this advert, but I'll stick with my OZs now.

    Understood.

Perhaps you misunderstood the nature of my post. I was not trying to poke holes in your reasoning. I was merely trying direct the attention of any member who may be interested in these wheels to what seems like a good buy, and in a somewhat jovial fashion. If I had a gti, I would have already paid for them myself. They are killer wheels. I'm not sure my better half would let me put these on the wagon we have on order.

Anyway, someone go and get these!!

All good mate, they are sharp buying at that price and I am half tempted to go back to my original idea and see if I can pick these up.

Of course that would then put an as new set of OZs onto the market.. they'd look great on a wagon.

    Don't tempt me.

Given I'm CSG I'd prefer something light - maybe a finish akin to my OZs - I'll lodge an offer.

    VW DURBAN - REVISITED

I've covered off on Durbans before, but these pics also highlight that a decent body kit can complement the Mk7 lines. It isn't perfect (it's selling for 1600 Turkish Lira though, only $800 odd) but looks reasonable. Arguably the smaller and closer spaced quad pipes work better than on the R as well.

Been meaning to add this update in for a while but never got around to it - a look at the various R wheels.

    Cadiz 18 inch:

    The Official Mk7 Wheel Thread-image-jpg

This is what we would have got as a stock wheel had VWA left 18s on the car. However our resident UK wheel man xxtrickzxx made me aware that there is also an 18 inch version of the Cadiz that has the black accents per the 19 inch version.

    Cadiz 19 inch:

And of course the wheel we all wanted, the Pretoria 19 inch:

..and on an R Line wagon - yum:
