I think the 19 inch wheel grew on me. Whenever I see an 18 inch on a GTI, felt abit too small for my cup of tea.
The Motorsport wheels remind me of Sankey's from the 1920's.
Very common on English cars of the time.

My grandma used to say...
You're not wrong..
Each to their own. The 19s definitely have a good look - although I'd have to go aftermarket over Santiagos, and I'd be wanting to lower further. I'm looking after market myself, but sticking to 18s for the extra rubber, lighter weight and better performance. I think 18s suit the Golf just fine, it was the 17s on the Mk6 GTI that definitely looked on the small side.

Specs: 19 x 8.5, ET42, weight tbc
Details: assuming 4 x Gallardo fronts used, rears are 19 x 11, ET55; H&R suspension kit
Nothing like a set of exotic wheels on a Golf. Using genuine wheels won't be cheap, although surprisingly seems to be quite a few odd lots floating around on eBay so tracking down four genuine fronts may be possible, although would require some major work to fit. Also available as reps in more favourable fitments.
Note: not a legal fitment in Australia

KRAFTBERG 'VOSSEN VVSCV3' REPS
Specs: 19 x 8.5 (f) 19 x 9.5 (r), ET45, weight tbc
Details: H&R coil overs fitted
Gold on red hmm. Don't know anything about these actual wheels, but the original Vossens look beautiful and come in silver, matte graphite and machined matte black. The 19 x 8.5s do come in ET45 so could be made to fit with a little work and minus that rear end poke! I did a quick calculation and the Vossens would land here with duties/taxes for around $3,300.
