I was going to ask if they were Audi wheels, some of the few that have the high offset.

Can always try a test fit given you've already 'got them' but I reckon there will be clearance issues.

On the plus side it shouldn't be hard to get your money back on them in a resale.

    VW Durban in 18" perhaps
These actually look a bit like the OEM "Helix" wheel which I saw in at my local dealer parts dept:

Thought i'd ask on here again...... 18" x 7.5" et45 will this work with a 35mm drop without any rub issues to the outside of the arches? I'm thinking this should be more than ok but would like to double check.

    Thanks.

Yes that will be fine, that's only 4mm more poke than the Austins which sit well inside in the guards on the Mk7.

Note these wheels have been powder coated black, think of them in silver and they will appear more familiar.
That MK6 R front bumper looks great, I've seen a few photos of these around - anyone know if there's a kit out or are they all custom fabricated?

^ Cheers Dutch. Looking at a few different options now. But pays to be certain rather than buy another set of wheels that might not fit On another note, if i was to buy rims from a 4x4 (I'm looking at OEM Amarok 'Durban' wheels) would they be heavier than VW Golf wheels or about the same?

OEM Amarok wheels are 5 x 120 bolt pattern adn would need adapters which are illegal for road use in Australia.
They are a lot heavier as they have to support the load rating of the ute (2.5 Tonne i believe)

Guy from APR weighed his stock amarok wheels with tyres at 35-40kg per corner.
