I was already to order some oz leggera's today(8x18" et48 )for my R when on the phone the retailer said he had an offer on some 8.5x19" et 44 oz superturisimo lm in Matt black for the same price,I had the same wheels on my previous car although in Matt graphite which I really liked, never really gone for black as you loose the detail of the alloy but looking at some pics the st's in black seam to pull it off really well.only thing that bugs me is the weight and not sure if I'm right but the poke would be 18mm over my 7.5x18" Cadiz?
I think they would look good at the rear but the tyres at the front i'm sure will poke out 5mm(using a spirit level and ruler lol)which isn't an issue in the uk but might look a bit weird ?

I knew someone, somewhere, would have put Omanyts on a Mk7. And I am sure they have.. the reps will have to do until you post up your pics.

Yeah I had the same wheels as you in 18s and loved them - had the matt black option been available back then I may very well have opted for them (as I prefer the centre design of the LM over the flatter face of the standard Superturismo which has had a matt black for ages). Having said that the graphite finish looks amazing and is the pick of the bunch in hindsight.

I can let Avdo chip in when he reads this, but you're spirit level/ruler method is basically spot on - there is about 5mm poke. See Avdo's post on his Rays with the same specs here: The Official Mk7 Wheel Thread . If it isn't a legality issue in the UK then yes, it comes down to looks - will certainly look better if tucked in more with camber/guard work but should be fairly workable to come up with a solution.

With my wheels, the front ones poke out by about 5-7mm (measured with a spirit level and a ruler), back ones are flush and look mean. I run standard size tyres (golf r 235/35/19) and the tyre does not look streched.

In regards to the poke, I am looking at getting a Lower Control Arms from SuperPro Suspension Parts | Poly Bushings | Suspension Bushes | Sway Bar Bushing Kits | Biggest range of polyurethane suspension parts, bushings and bushes including swaybar and sway bar kits manufactured in Australia. when they are released and that will give me some negative camber to tuck the front wheels in.

Second option you have is to lower your car (dutch77 and I are still considering this option) and that will also give you some negative camber, not much though. (someone correct me if i'm wrong)

Third option is to buy a set of these IE Adjustable Camber Plates For MK5/MK6/8P/8J Chassis and they will fit MK7.

Fourth option (ugly one in my opinion) get some Kerscher wider front guards (i think they are 2.5cm wider per side)

    Hope this helps

I've bit the bullet and ordered some oz leggera's 19"x8" et45 which may take a few weeks to arrive as they only had 19"x8.5" et47 in stock at oz Italy, just hope the 4mm difference in poke is worth the wait lol.I managed to get some Goodyear f1 asymmetric 2 235/35 91y rubber for them at a good price which although IMO are not quite so grippy as my favourite vredestein ultrac vorti but have a very big rim protector on them.i will post some pics when fitted.

No stock at oz Italy for the leggera 19"x8" until October so I've cancelled order,I don't want the et47 8.5"width versions because I'm not planning on touching the ride height and not so keen on the poke look, now looking at other brands.........,

I thought 8.5 et47 would be fairly close to flush, I might be mistaken though. How much poke would you get with your calculations?
