    Putting 17s or 18s on an R

    Hey guys,
I've got a Wolfsburg wagon with 35 profile tyres on the 19 Praetorias. I live in the Hunter Valley and the roads are crap and I'm getting bored of the low profile 'experience'.

Does anyone have any 17s or 18s that still look nice but have a 40 or 45 profile tyre on them for a similar outer circumference?

Can sell you some Praetorias with tyres in the deal.

    WTB 17 or 18s to suit a Golf Mk 7 (5x112)

I'm not sure there will be a huge difference between the 35 and 40 profiles with the car in comfort mode - but unless budget is a problem I'd be inclined to hang on to the Pretorias.

They're a sought after OEM wheel and unlike a number of Mk7 wheels actually look decent, even in black.

It would be worth looking at some branded 18s (BBS, OZ etc) at least to complement the car - eg. one of the UK guys who contributed to the wheel thread is running black OZ Legerra HLTs on his R wagon which won't actually change the look to much and will work well.

I think I will buy some 17 and see how much turn in feel suffers. I'm sick of the new rattles that are starting already!

Don't forget you may have to re-code the car as the wheel circumference that affects the speedo maybe affected.
