i've mod'd all kinds of cars over the years

my last euro was a c63 (stock wheels) and an e46 m3 i put work vs-xx on

i won't be altering suspension on the golf as it's meant to be a comfortable daily driver

4-5k isn't too bad if they're a forged wheel, otherwise i'll look at going with another set of ADVs

Remind me to ask for a visit to your garage when I'm in Melbourne next.

I've toyed with playing with the car as well but since moving across the country my daily drive actually qualifies as a 'drive' and I think I'll be staying stock as well..

I might have under quoted on the AVs, I saw some $1250 per wheel pricing in USD, which would be from the forged range but does mean the landed price is a decent amount higher than $4-5k.

Thanks for posting this up, I'm assuming these must be x 8.5 ET45 as well which is good timing.

That looks really clean, I'm not always a big fan of the traditional five spoke but the silver on red is a great match, what suspension are you running?

(that also looks an after market tip? or have you got a system running as well? I like that clean angled tip)

Thought I'd follow on from my last 'USA dealer' post with a few shots of their accessories area - want to order some ASAs or Enkeis? How about some APR gear fitted? No problems, the dealer will do it and make sure your warranty is still intact. Still, this is the land where the DSG magically grows a warranty out to.. 10 yrs/100k or 6 yrs/60k, I've seen both but either way.

Meanwhile our fun Australian branch will flag your car and threaten you with a blown warranty.

    Thanks Dutch
yes they are 19x8.5 ET 45, and I picked these wheels as the will be easy to clean compared to the original Performance wheels and also I think black wheels have been over killed. I've installed VWR springs and I've only changed the tips not exhaust system .

I thought I'd start it off with details on the OEM wheels and then branch out from there. I will add/fill-in/correct as we go along and more information comes along. Please PM me if you think changes are required to any details so this thread can be a useful tool for all involved.

I'd welcome pics and details from anyone who has already changed their wheels over. Please provide details on the wheels (brand, model, color, diameter, width and offset) where known and also advise whether your car is running any modified suspension components which could impact the fitment.

Important note: not all wheels in this thread are legal fitment in Australia. The thread should be used as a style guide only and any fitment issues checked prior to committing to a set of wheels. Feel free to post questions in the thread.

Note: A number of the above cars are on lowered springs.
I have recently changed my stock Cadiz 19s to a set of
SSR GTV02 19x8.5 +45 in flat black and I just today tried to weight a stock Cadiz 19 to see how heavy it is.
I was always wondering about the weight of Cadiz.

Surprisingly, cadiz 19 is quite light actually much lighter than I thought.
It weighted in at 11kg according to my
    bathroom scale.
I know bathroom scale is not the best way to weight a wheel but it still can be used as a guide at least.

On a side note, my SSR GTV02 19x8.5 +45 weighted in at 10.5kg using the same scale. SSR GTV02 is flow formed and I knew it was not the lightest but 10.5kg is somewhat disappointing.
Still a bit lighter than stock cadiz though.

Here are some pics of my 7R with SSR GTV02.

    Thanks andrew..

I got my rims through JDM Concept in Sydney.
I ordered them sometime in Sept 14 when JDM Concept ran a special on SSR rims and I think it was about $1800 delivered including SSR hub rings.
They come with valve stem, stickers and center caps but no hub rings.

As shown in pics, stock Bridgestone RE050A 235 35 19 tyres fit perfect on 8.5J. No issues at all.

Back on page 101 of this thread I found just the right car to use to mock up the graphite OZ ULs I'm weighing against the black wheels ala Josh84. Not the best edit but if you don't critically stare at the wheels you get the perfect idea of graphite on black. I think this is what I'll go with when the car shows up and just thought I'd share...

Thanks again, Dutch, for an awesome thread. I promise some pics once my R is delivered and sorted...
