I picked up my white 90 TSI manual with the 16" Toronto wheels off the Comfortline yesterday $24200 driveaway - which was over $4000 less than I paid for my white Mk6 90 TSI manual 3 years ago. Have just done over 200km already and it is quieter, smoother riding, tighter more solid feeling, noticeably faster - I guess that's what 61kg less weight does - and waaaaay better equipped. Looks better too and the doors shut with an even more solid thunk. And this one had better not blow a turbo or VW will be very hard to forgive. And the engine still isn't as "sweet" as the Forester's with a lot less character. It still amazes me how well it pulls in the upper gears on hills though but it still has that soft spot just above idle and then comes on more strongly than the Mk6 around 1500 rpm. re the sales service I guess there's a lot they still have to get familiar with. They looked so smug whipping the cover off mine to present it in the delivery room but you should have seen the confused looks when I pointed out the they hadn't put the black covers on the wheel nuts. 20 were quickly found. Also I have checked the oil for the first time this morning and it was only half way between the marks. Perhaps it wasn't filled fully when predelivery was performed so after my last experience of 1L use every 3000km I'll be keeping a close check.
