The wife and I finally ordered our standard GTI yesterday (white, manual, sunroof, DAP).

Still not sure whether we missed some sort of ordering cutoff which means we may need to wait till first quarter 2015 instead of November this year (bad enough )

Ordered a GTI PP yesterday which was in stock.
Delivery will be this week - just a bit excited. The old MK6 has just gone on carsales.

Been nearly 10 weeks since I ordered my MK7 R and dealer still can't provide me with a build week. Keep saying it's on track for October delivery, which I find hard to believe if they can't even tell me when it's planned to be built?

I share your pain in waiting, but at least you will get a MY2015 model with hopefully 210kW instead of a piddling 206kW.

On the issue of your dealer having not given you a build date, that's possible, as I only obtained mine earlier this month. However, badger the sales manager, and if that proves unhelpful, complain to Volkswagen Australia Customer Relations.

Have you seen this written down anywhere? I know this is the case for the S3, but the official VW Australia MY15 info didn't mention a power bump for the R.

Adam, I did say "hopefully". My comment is based on the fact that ever since the Mk6 R and S3 8P, they have shared powertrains. Would it be unreasonable to expect this tradition to continue? If it doesn't, then even more sales to the Audi may be expected.

If you're the kind of buyer who cares about 4kW then you're possibly also the type of buyer who will blow that figure completely when you add your tune and swap your dump pipe over.
