Thanks, I feel it's a real turnaround from a bad start.
I dont know what happened it may have had to to with the sales guy that sold it to me because he is no longer there.

He seemed to be doing a good job and was a tough negotiator. I negotiate for a living and it was tough gaining any ground but I was at a disadvantage as I couldn't shop around for this model only two dealers in the same network had them in stock within 100km and I couldn't wait for delivery as my trade-in was on it's last legs and I couldn't drive it more than 50Km without it overheating. it also had less that a weeks rego left so I needed to buy what was in stock. I'm seeing a few more now but they are red or white and the blue is so much nicer plus it had the leather and ACC.

I wish Sydney Dealers were like that. They have such a high turnover of both cars and staff they don't seem to care if they don't get repeat business at least not in my area if I go north or out west the service gets better as their turnover is smaller and the seem to value the business particularly if you buy the more expensive models.

I purchased my vehicle from Barloworld Volkswagen and wonder why the hell i gave them the business.

Sure, test drive and signing of contracts were great but that is where it stopped. Upon taking delivery of the vehicle, it was in the showroom as this is where you sit inside as they demonstrate features of the vehicle. As i am signing paperwork, prospective customers are jumping thru the vehicle... i mentioned this to the sales guy... NOTHING! I had to get up with the key and lock it!

Issues with getting LED registration plate lights fitted (now done) and being bumped off to customer care for a navigation issue.

The sad part is that they should be building on a current and future relationship... i am pretty sure that in about three years or so i will be hearing from them in an attempt to get me into my next Volkswagen. Service for me is a big deal and sadly this group of dealerships (friends bought theirs from another Barloworld) have a long way to go.

Oh and i love how classy the dealership is with sales guys smoking out the front in between customers!

My experience with Barloworld Glen Waverley in Melbourne wasn't much better. While the purchase and delivery of my new Golf GTI Mk5 went smoothly, on each occasion when a new model Golf GTI was launched, I was never contacted by them enquiring whether I had any interest. However, when I lobbed up to their dealership expressing interest in a Golf R Mk7, I couldn't even get a test drive of their demonstrator unless I committed to purchasing one first. It made no difference when I advised my Mk5 GTI had been acquired from them. So much for the "people's car" being available!

If they ask you to commit to buying one before getting a test drive, go elsewhere. May I suggest Geelong VW. Great people. They also have an R you can test drive at the moment.

    Mikey1....

I could understand a copy of your drivers licence, credit card... even wanting to share the test drive with you but prior commitment... take the business elsewhere.

I traded in a Mazda... and the service was impeccable. From the day i bought it, until the last service i had with them. Service wise i am a huge advocate of their brand and the dealership i purchased it from. I actually had to ask them to stop calling... not a courtesy call or survey from VW!

Picked up my new 90TSI Comfortline Golf just over a week ago from Rockdale Volkswagen. Couldn't go past the $25,990 drive away (including paint) deal VW had on offer, to replace my 5 year old 103TDI. The 90TSI achieves very similar fuel consumption to the 103TDI which suited me perfectly, and also was happy to hop back into a Manual just for a change, especially as i'm doing alot less driving now. It has everything the 103TDI had, except I had Sports Pack, Sat Nav, and Sunroof, Alarm. The price difference between purchasing the two cars, was about $20,000 in difference over 5 years and I really think I got value for money here with this offer. So far fuel consumption is averaging 5.7L/100 which is less than the diesel was doing.

I really liked Rockdale's no hassle approach. Once we started talking about the deal they started offering what they could do the seal it. Once they threw in some rubber floor mats, etc and we nutted out finance and trade in to suit me, I happily signed. The car was delivered about 4 weeks after ordering it, there was a few hick ups with stock early on, but in the end I got what I wanted. I did want Sat Nav, but it was impossible to get on a MY14 run out, and at $950 (much better than the old RNS510 $3000 option) it is still quite expensive for a sat nav that is hard to update and something I rarely do use.

May I add there was none of the take him into the other room and try sell me useless add ons etc, It was simply thank you your car will now be ordered. Rockdale VW is opening a new Showroom in about a months time, currently they were working out of an old used car yard across the road from Rockdale Toyota (old United Holden).
