1 week in and we love our new GTi. However, one thing I haven't worked out is if the cabin (ceiling) lights are meant to come on when you open a door.

On my MK 6 it turns on when you unlock the car. Make sure the switch at the top is in the O position i think. Pretty much make sure it isn't clicked in.

On a side note, my car just left Durban, South Africa, and is on it's way across the Indian Ocean to Perth. Not long now (unless the ship does a detour and looks for the plane)

Nice one. I went to golf yesterday and when I got back to my car there was a mk7 gti in carbon steel parked next to me. The tint made his look better

As long as the ship doesn't go missing too. I reckon my car is aboard this boat as well (dealer got my delivery eta wrong), I don't have VIN details but what boat is it.. figure I'll amuse myself for the next few weeks and track it.

Dutch77, the boat is the Undine. It is due in Fremantle 4/4, Melbourne 9/4, Port Kembla 11/4, Brisbane 15/4. Allow 7-15 days post arrival to clear customs+ dealer processing

It's one of the buttons on the ceiling, near the buttons which actually turn the lights on. Look at the logos. It's the one with the doors.
