Thanks I though the extended warranty was pricey also. in 2010 I bought a Golf TSI and was offered a 3y extended warranty for $1600 I regretted not taking it as I still have the car and now it's out of warranty things are starting to play up. Just managed to replaced the highpresure fuel pump underwarranty as it had only just expired.
This time they offered it to me at $2990 for only 2 years and this was a discounted price if I purchased it at a later dated it would have cost $500 more. High pressure sales here.
Unfortunately the delivery issues have not only not been resolve they don't even respond. I sent an email on the 5th to customer relations with a copy of the report I had done by stateroads showing engine code faults (i'm told this is normal when cars are shipped the software is updated and all faults are checked and cleared if they do the delivery correctly). the email also detailed how dirty and marked the care was when it was handed over and what a rushed and poor job the guy that did the delivery was he even ticked off all the delivery points I was meant to check on the car and asked me to sign off on it. I crossed off most of what he ticked as ok as it clearly wasn't.
since the 5th I have called 3 times left 2 messages and when I tried to speak with the sales guy who sold me the car I was told he no longer worked there and he was the one person who did his job well it was just a shame that he was not there when I picked up the car.
I rang again yesterday and still no return call. if I don't hear from them next week I'm going to contact John White the Managing Director of Volkswagen G.A. I'm sure he would like to know how long time clients are being treated. The previous 2 Golf's I bought were from a different group Denlo and the North Shore VW and their service was so much better. I was going to go back but was pushed for time so decided to stay closer to home. That was a mistake that I now regret I know from experience that the other company would have fixed this issued right away in fact i doubt it would of have happened in the first place.
I will keep you posted on developments.
Looks the goods.. glad the Opticoat deal came out well.
Not cool, very disappointing the dealer cannot even be bothered responding.
As a comparison I ordered new plates as the drill holes on the old ones were in the wrong spot, as I didn't have a drill to hand I had the car dropped by the dealer on Thursday and they fitted the new plates as well as some Lakin covers I'd ordered a while back no problems.

I ordered a GTI PP about a week ago in Night Blue. Should be at the dealer when I get back from a work trip in 2 weeks. Bit nervous about the colour as I've only seen it in person at dusk, not in daylight. I just wanted something different from Grey.
Been thinking about Opticoat to look after it. Any recommendation in the Newcastle area?
Don't be nervous, it's a great color and stands out given it wasn't available locally in the Mk6. It's quite dark at dusk/night/shaded, but has a good depth/sparkle in sunlight. It was a close second on my list this time around.
Can't help on Newcastle Opticoat but would definitely recommend it with that color.

I mentioned in my newbie first post thread that the night blue doesn't seem to be very popular around here. And that mine was the first to be sold by my dealer.
Sure did, thanks again for your help.
I hadn't seen the blue in the flesh at all so I had to go by what I had seen on the web. All my past cars have been white so I wanted something different.
Here's a couple of pics in the sunlight instead of overcast.
wow picked up the CL DSG Satnav yesterday only 50ks urban driving so far but so happy with this vehicle - silky smooth and unbelievably refined - as Daryl Kerrigan would say "How's the serenity?"...will post more on 'Observations' thread in time...
tested this car fair and square against Corolla Levin SX (have had a great run with our current 2010 Corolla 6 spd manual which we are keeping) and mid-spec Mazda3 - no regrets whatsoever jumping on the dubber - love the Limestone colour (which was unseen at purchase)
