Engine is so torquey(only reving to 4k ATM). Nice exhaust note and those awesome pops on upshift, steering is nicely weighted and precise, BT works well and happy with stero quality even though I had Dynaudio in my mk6.

Interior lighting looks awesome when driving into my shed and xenons with led drl look amazing. Will try out lights later tonight.

So far we are very happy. Will put a few hundred Kms on it on the week end.

Adaptive cruise control is awesome. Can't wait to try out park assist.

What routine are you following the "bed in" the engine from new? Revs under 4K now but do you have a plan based on some mechanical advice/science?

Not following any routine. I just like to let the rings bed in for a few hundred kms before giving it hell. Lol

You must be a happy man Brendan. Just be careful with the park assist - I found a quiet street and practised it. The internal door red lights on the door are so good - I set them to stay slightly illuminated while driving.

Very happy. Sales guy said same thing about park assist, find a quiet street and don't try park next to a ute.

Hey, how do you get look doors after take off to work? I've ticked the box but it's not working

Practise is a good idea - on one occasion it almost took me into the side of the other car so dunno what I did wrong. I'll try out the auto lock setting this weekend and let you know if I have any luck. And I don't think I have led number plate lights with my xenons either. How are you finding that satnav eloquence so far? I can hardly understand a word she says.

That will be good if you can try that out on your car and let me know. It's disappointing about not having led plate lights. Tbh I haven't actually used the satnav.

Today I asked the dealer to ensure the traffic alert function is activated befor I pick up my mk7 GTi on Thursday. He said that function is designed for Europe and does not work in Australia.

The traffic alert works fine for me. The parking assist works so well without any hiccup. The ACC is works like wonders but freaks you out the first time. Almost a perfect car. Love it.
