Hi all, I ordered a standard Golf GTI mid-July and was told to expect delivery "end of November".
I received the VIN today and this is what I get when I run a search on the 2wglobal.com site:

Can anybody hazard a guess when I might receive the car? I'm in Melbourne.
Thanks in advance.
After more than 6 months of waiting, including 21 days after landing in Melbourne, I should finally take delivery of my Pure White MY15 Golf R manual on Tuesday. Am I excited? No? Why? The pain of disposing my GTI (selling process and saying farewell to an 'old friend') and the excruciating wait, have given way to just relief. Why car buyers have to wait so long when the option package is so limited, is something that nobody should endure, albeit I ordered a manual, which was not slotted for production until MY15.
How's the R Mikey??...Let us know...
I'm sorry to report my news is not a happy one. While I took delivery today, and the car drives very nicely, that is where the good news ends. Let me explain. I arrived just before the 9:00 am scheduled time at the dealership, and I was told the car hadn't yet arrived from their pre-delivery centre. About 40 minutes later it turned up, and I proceeded to attach my new custom number plates to the car. My sales guy then approaches me and advises there is a problem. Their admin staff wont register my car unless the number plates are affixed with screws. They never heard of anyone using double sided adhesive tape, which is what I advised my sales guy I would be doing 6 months ago. I rang VicRoads from the dealership, and indeed my proposed attachment method is illegal. I never had this problem for 9 years with my Mk5 GTI, which I bought new from another dealership. Anyway, all this took time to resolve, and there was really no more time or patience for the usual hand-over, so off I went at 11:00 am. When I got home, I noticed my right rear wheel had a graze on the rim, where it had come into contact with something coated in dark yellow paint. Off I went back to the dealership, but they weren't happy I pointed out this damage after I had originally left the dealer's premises. The sales manager said he would need to escalate to the dealer principal. I then left and went to show off the new toy to my mother. When doing this, I noticed something on the chin of the front bumper. Upon closer inspection on my knees I was horrified to see a number of white painted and black underside plastic parts badly scraped from a kerb or something similar. Off I went back to the dealer, only to be told this would be another item to add to the list for the sales manager and dealer principal to discuss. Where I now stand in getting these items repaired or replaced I don't know, but this I do know, at no stage was I advised that leaving the dealership waived any claim for repairing any pre-existing damage. At no stage was I shown or given a pre-delivery inspection checklist to examine, let alone sign. This is in stark contrast to the documentation I received with my GTI in 2005, where both the dealer sales guy and I had to sign-off the vehicle delivery checklist before I was allowed to leave the dealership. Later, I found in the R's glove box the pre-delivery inspection checklist, which is intact of all copies for the customer, dealer and Volkswagen Australia. However, the checklist has only been completed and signed by the service technician and nobody else, including the service manager and detailer. I contest the checklist is not worth the paper it's written on, as the ODO reading stated on the form is 4 km more than the reading when I received it. Also, for the sunroof operation and manual gearbox oil level, these have crosses against them instead of ticks, when my car has both items fitted. I hope this all gets resolved amicably and quickly, as the checklist anomalies are potentially embarrassing.
I know this has been raised before but I'm wondering if anyone has had it resolved. I have a rattle coming from what I think is the side pillars or doors - can't be sure. It's particularly bad on the passenger side. Also from above but I've figured that out to be the sunroof which stops when the roof is open. I took it in about a month ago but the dealer advised that as my car has done more than 1000km it would be a chargeable service. Surround sound rattles aren't what I expect from a $55k car. Anyway has anyone had a similar problem that has been fixed and what was the cause of the rattle? This isn't the buzzing from the front dash in certain rev ranges btw (waste gate).

Ditto Michael, one would trust that the dealer will do the right thing. Means when my R turns up (it's now 3 weeks since our boat docked and my dealer still doesn't have the car!) I will be going over it with a fine tooth comb!
Allow yourself plenty of time not a good idea to pick up late in the day or they will try and rush you out the door

My sales guy has a day off today, so he promissed to call me tomorrow. I'm not confident this will be resolved quickly or even at all. I feel really let down, that they diverted my usually meticulous attention to detail on the registration/number plate issue, so when that was resolved, I just wanted to leave. However, had they showed me a condition report, I would have checked it for sure.
