Hi all,
im looking at getting an OBDEleven (link below), but have a couple of questions before I pull the trigger.
Will this work with the 7.5 Golf or 7 only?
The site below provides some credits, but indicates that extra credits can’t be purchased in Australia. Does that render the device useless once the credits are consumed?

apologies for the rookie questions.

Thanks guys!
I was able to purchase more credits a few months back. Maybe a recent change, but I did have to hunt around for the apk to install.
I've got an older Micro-CAN interface; would it be beneficial to also get an OBDEleven to cover any gaps the older Ross-Tech interface may miss with respect to the newer modules?

Micro-CAN VCDS
Kevlarman: As I see it, you have 2 x options: you most certainly can buy an OBD11 dongle, but you also have the alternative to trade-in your Micro-CAN cable for a new HEX series device.
Each option has its advantages and failings: OBD11 is less-expensive, but you need a good internet connection @ the place of use and you need an Android tablet/mobile-phone for the SW. HEX-V2 cable will run like cut-cat in comparison (man, it's fast!) - but it's more expensive.
From a dollar perspective - if you trade-in your Micro-CAN cable under the RT "loyalty scheme" for a 10 x VIN, HEX-V2 cable, it will cost $149 + $77 shipping (FEDEX Priority, no insurance)= $226 (USD). This translates to about $250 AUD
This compares with a cost for an OBD11 dongle of $139+$10 Shipping =$149 AUD from AutoInstruct - so, $100 AUD less for OBD11!!
The question that only you can answer is - is the additional cost for VCDS worth it?

Please don't PM to ask questions about coding, or vehicle repairs. The better place to deal with these matters is on-line, in the forum proper. That way you get the benefit of the expertise of the wider forum! Thank you.
