Don't think so — if your car had nav it would be obvious.
Also, you'd have 2 SD slots, not 1.
Hey all.
I recently purchased a 2013 90tsi Golf Mk7 Tsi comfortline and have been looking into nav options as it doesn't have one built in.
After doing a fair bit of research i found that some golf's the same year and model as mine have the nav option (by holding down media). I've done some more research but im still unsure if my car should have nav or not. I have an sd slot/cd slot in my clove box, so if i was to purchase a nav disk from here would i then be able to access the built in nav?
Thanks

The holding down menu button is launching appconnect (android auto or Apple carplay) which can then run Apple maps or Google maps.
This is only possible with the MIB2 Discover Media infotainment system.
Yours will likely be an MIB1 Composition Media unit which has neither maps nor appconnect.
You would need to replace the glovebox unit and screen for an MIB2 Discover Media setup.

How would I find out if its MIB1 or MIB2? The glove box unit does say Volkswagen infotainment.

^^^ if you do consider upgrading to MIB2, don't forget about our dear friend "Component Protection" -trip to your local dealer !!!
Don
Please don't PM to ask questions about coding, or vehicle repairs. The better place to deal with these matters is on-line, in the forum proper. That way you get the benefit of the expertise of the wider forum! Thank you.
Is it a simple 'plug and play' procedure to upgrade from MIB1 Composition to MIB2 Discover, just by swapping out the head unit and associated glovebox parts?
No it's not that simple unfortunately.
As mentioned above by Don, component protection will be activated if the mib is replaced with another unit.
This can only be cleared using VW online tools (GeKo).
It is possible to get modified units which have had hardware added which will prevent component protection from being tripped, making it a plug n play exercise.

Not quite. Needs a new USB Plug/Screen (8 inches in my case) /surround and Glovebox unit and have to modify some of the plugs (which is not hard to do) . Also if you want DAB you need to fit an Antenna if you have no idea how to do this stuff can be a bit tricky and in your case if no original GPS module you will need to an antenna for that as well. They are not cheap either. I have a MIB 2 With Carplay & DAB in mine great radio if you can afford it is worth while. .
