With the LRR do you get any benefit to running the second can line to the lane assist camera? I know on the MRR you only get 160 Km/h and 210Km/h with the camera in fusion mode. (not that it really matters here, no autobahn )
thanks mate, looking forward to getting it fitted and prove I can get it working. still a bit nervous at present...

I won't be fitting the camera for this installation, trying to keep it as simple as possible. not sure I'd be trusting my car to do the braking anyway if I decided to 160 Km/h on the m1...

do you have any contacts for component protection removal please? the only place I can find remotely close to brissy so far is in Maroochydore and they want $300 which I thought was a bit steep. may be I'm wrong and that's the going rate, I haven't been down this road before...

from posting in the coding forum and reaching advice from Don, I think I've got the coding sorted...

    19 – Gateway
Add 13 – Auto Dist. Reg on the installation list
Under Adaptation change steering wheel type to ACC

    01 – Engine
    Set ACC with Front Assist ( PR-8T3, PR-8T8 )

    03 – ABS
Edit Byte 24: Change to F8
Edit Byte 26: Change Bit 2=1 and Bit 4=1

    17 – Instrument
On the cluster set all the ticks for Front Assist and Distance Regulation

    5F – Radio
Set all the ticks for Front Assist, ACC and PreCrash

    13 – Radar
    Set presence of ACC

I'm going to have a crack at fitting it this weekend but still waiting on the steering wheel switches coming from the UK...

In the meantime I'm going to research ODIS to see if I think its worth buying and removing CP myself. Otherwise the stealer has quoted $180hr diagnostic time and you'd hope they'd be able to do the CP removal in that time frame...

I got a bit bored over xmas and decided the Gti needed a bit more noise so I got a 100 cell sport catted downpipe. of course that led to the dreaded check engine light so the next logical step was the revo stage 2 ecu and tcu tune...

I really wasn't expecting to feel the difference as the power number jump doesn't look big on paper. May be its the torque increase but it definitely feels a lot quicker and the torque steer is more pronounced now...

with extra power I decided a little brake refresh wouldn't be a bad thing, not big but just some better discs and pads on the front. I went with the budget option of brembo grooved and dimpled discs and dba street performance pads...

and just standard Bosch discs and pads on the rear...

also bought it some new shoes for xmas, look away for those with strong hatred for reps...

a bit of a hot hatch line up on the driveway at the moment but there would only be one winner...

Nice, those pads are on my list for when I need new ones. How do you rate them? What did you have on before?

I actually put a set on our Triton this morning, but I can't tell so much in that vehicle.

I really like my stock pads and I have heard these will have a similar feel.

Looks like the GTI is sticking around for a while longer than I first though. It looks nice with the new rims. You almost have a different car to drive every day of the week by the looks of it.
