Clinton: Hi.
I assume that you mean the circled first line in the screenshot below:
If so, don't worry about the message. Nothing is actually "wrong" in the sense that this message means some form of engine fault. The message is simply informing the driver that Start Stop (SS) was not enabled because one of the many prerequisites for activation was NOT satisfied.
Early release Aussie mk7s, like this car did NOT have the
Start Stop Limit Voltage channel in the Gateway module as indicated in
Hillbilly reply.
So, I suspect that instead, the OBD11 OCA (One-Click-App) used what's called the "Temperature method" (and NOT the "Voltage method") to disable SS. Incidentally, I suggest that you do NOT use OCAs - because they make unknown changes to the car's coding that are difficult to find if the tweak goes pear-shape (I NEVER use OCAs)
The "Temperature method" works ostensibly in the same way as the "Voltage method" in that both change the threshold values at which the SS algorithm refuses to enable the function.
To explain - the tweak change results in the following instructions to the SS algorithm
- In the Voltage-method, the change instructs the SS Algorithm to not enable SS if the reference voltage (which is NOT battery volts) is below 12.1 Volts. The factory threshold was 7.6 Volt before the tweak change!
- In the Temperature-method, the tweak change means - do not enable SS if the engine temperature is above -50°C (which is almost never). The factory threshold was +50°C before the tweak change!
So, I hope that you can see that the "
vehicle power consumption is high" message would have been worth noticing without the SS tweak - because it would have indicated a possible problem if the message was consistently appearing. However, with the changed threshold values, the message is a permanent consequence of the tweak.
In fact, if the message did NOT appear permanently after the SS tweak was implemented, it means ironically that the SS algorithm is NOT operating correctly!!
Hope my words above make sense - if not, my apology for adding to your confusion.
Again, I suggest that you simply ignore the message and instead worry about global warming!!
