    Mk7 GTI drive day

Does anyone know if VWA will be organising a track day launch for the new GTI? I recall in 2009 a number of Mk5 owners were invited to drive the Mk6 at Eastern Creek.

My dealer is not sure about this, but they were not around in 2009 when this occurred. Be useful to know how to get onto that list.

There was a progression and evolution driver training this year. The previous year, progression was in Golf GTI and R, with evolution in R and Scirocco R, this year progression was in Highline? MK7 and evolution in Scirocco R only.
I guess next year's will have GTI for progression. There is a website for it somewhere, and when you purchase your car you should be put in the mailing list for it. Look in the events section of vww and vwg forums in au as it is often put there too (which is how I learnt about it the previous year because either Chatswood Classic or VWGA were too slack to get my details into the system in a timely manner).

Local dealers may do something when the vehicle is launched. I know some of the Tassie dealers put on an event for the Mk7 Golf when it came out.

Other than that there's the VW Driving Experience - probably a bit too late as the Qld event has already been run for this year. Only Phillip Island left and all spots look like they're taken.

I'd suggest that you go to the VW Driving Experience website and register for next year so that you get notified for 2014 events. Also if you're not already, I'd suggest registering on the YouVW (VW Australia Owners) website as an owner as they'll offer a discount on the courses ($100 off in previous years).
