Upgrade from mk6 to Mk 7 wagon. Anything I am missing?

Ok. I've trawled round here and the mk 6 boards a bit. The wipers are an issue maybe. So is a waste box, once I find what it is. I reluctantly realize that the best replacement for my defect-ridden 118TSI Mk 6 wagon may well be the Mk 7 when the wagon arrives. I have no interest in the hatch. Hyundai i40 wagon actually costs about the same for similar spec, but really doesn't feel the same as the Golf. Golf is great to drive, but totally non-trustworthy in trips greater than 150km. I digress. What should I know about Mk 7 Golfs as a potential buyer, after the Mk6 DQ200 and engine experience?

Well it still has the dry clutch gearbox, improved they say yet some cars have already been recalled. If you really want a Golf wagon do yourself a favour and get the diesel. Solid motor and the less troublesome 6spd wet clutch DSG.

Or buy the Hyundai, it is quite a nice looking car.

Interesting that the Golf Wagon 110TDI is more fuel efficient than the hatch Must be more aerodynamic...

What's the deal with the wipers?

Some options that were previously available are no longer; there's no premium sound option, the Discover Pro is still not yet available (and the display is a significant downgrade from the RNS510) and the steering wheel is thinner and I find doesn't feel as nice as the mark 6. I know I can get the Discover Pro as an aftermarket option for 3k (sign me up!) but this still leaves the sound as an issue.

    Otherwise, #shutupandtakemymoney.

Spotted this morning in Adelaide, at a VW press event (I'm guessing the Wagon's launch):

It's not possible to aftermarket the Discover Pro. It's a much more complex unit than the RNS510 use to be and needs to be activated via VW Germany. It might be possible to do it via a dealer when its properly launched by VW Aus though.

The wipers? I read earlier on these forums that the blades lifted at times, and would be fixed if reported reasonably swiftly. Dunno if it's still an issue.
