Hi,
Thanks to you my wife is now happy driving early morning and late afternoon. The change to the lights coming on early seems to have been enough, however since I'm thinking of getting a VW myself I may still take you up on the offer. Do you know if the chinese VCDS cable and software work? There's one on ebay for about $60 delivered.
Cheers,
Karl

Hey Giuys,
I'm planning to buy a new Golf 92TSI comfortline DSG with the drivers assist pack.
Does anyone have any comments or recommendations for this car?
Hows the issues with this car?
I have come to conclusion that there is no car on the market that is trouble free and all vehicles are susceptible to issues but I would love to hear some feedback about this car.
I am upgrading from my 2010 VW Jetta 103TDI DSG.![]()

Aren't you going to miss the TDI poweerrr?
Although, the 92TSI rental did impress...
I drove one week before as a dealer loan car. Very smooth, not as fast as 110tsi, and you can feel it, but more than enough to get around town in.
The only thing I would mention is the new stop start system. It turns off the engine while the car is still moving (10km/h) coming to a stop. Surprised me at first, but I got used to it.
Annoyed me a bit in stop start traffic as the car was restarting a lot, may have to do with the way I apply brake pressure.
Other than that, it's a really great car

I'm a big fan of the DSG having owned three over the past 10 years but these were the DQ250 6 speed wet clutch DSGs the same as you have in your 103TDI.
The seven speed DQ200 in the 92TSI is a different kettle of fish being dry clutch. There were countless issues with the DQ200 in the MK6 involving Mechatronics and clutches and whilst it seems the issues have been rectified in the main, there have been a few of posts on here regarding clutch issues in the MK7.
I'd buy a new VW with the DQ250 with no hesitation but I'd think long and hard about the DQ200.
Cheers

14 EOS 2.0 TSI has arrived!
I have 2 110TSI wagons parked in the garage and both have/had clutch issues. One slips intermittently, plus makes strange noises between shifts and the other has had clutch pack replaced and is shuddering/squealing again. If I knew what I know now, I would've gone the TDI with the wet clutch.
Just an observation but it's interesting that despite most of us having faced DSG issues over the years and some of the whining that goes on in other threads that most of us are still sold on owning a VW and are happy to work around the trouble spots.
FWIW I'd be happy to own the 7 speeder on a 3-4 year purchase cycle but any more and I'd be looking at a TDI/GTI/R model to get the wet clutch.
