    Driver Assist on manual car?

    Hi everyone

We are getting ready to replace my wife's car with a Mk7. Been offered two cars which can be had at current promotional prices, one with satnav and one with satnav and D/A package. Both cars are 90TSI Comfortline (as this was the only engine available with a manual gearbox).

My question is, whether people think the D/A package is worth the extra cash especially as, on a manual, the car won't stop/start in traffic on it's own etc. Does anyone here own a manual car with the package?

Stop/Start does work with a manual; you just - AFAIK - need to engage the clutch and put it in neutral.

I think he is asking if the manual with DA works the same as a DSG car. Will the adaptive cruise control bring the car to a stop and take off again like it does in my DSG.

I'd say the adaptive cruise control is worth the price of DA - will be looking for it on any future purchases.

Thanks guys. I wasn't very clear initially. I know Stop / Start (as in the engine) works on the manual, my question was about the function of the ACC. As I understand it now, with a manual the cat will slow down to 30km/h and then up again. It won't stop completely.

Oh and with regards to the owner's manual, while I have searched extensively online I haven't been able to find one... Oh and they won't give you one before the car arrives. Just to bear in mind that some of us here haven't got our cars yet...

Try this link for an owners manual, Here's a post from another forum remember some of the features wont be available on Aussie cars but it will keep you amused till your new toy arrives:

"The Golf 7 manual is available in German and can be translated rapidly if you have a translation add-on in your browser. I use Chrome which does it instantly.

    SessionInit

You will need to enter a FIN number. Copy paste this in:

    WVWZZZAUZDW143599

There you will find three manuals for the Golf 7:

    • Operating Instructions
    • Composition Media, Discover Media
    • Service Plan

    Have fun!"

Correct, I'm told however that the car does not take into account the revs. If your in 6th gear the car will be labouring. Also City Emergency Braking which is part of the ACC system will definitely stall the car if it's activated.
Ordered: Mk7 TDI, R-Line, DSG, White, Driver assist, Sunroof, Xenons

Hey...thanks for that. I guess it's better than nothing. So I assume if you're using this then nobody has the actual manual in PDF like Skoda do?

Just had a call from my dealer who told me VW has issued a bulletin advising they printed incorrect information in the brochure. So they won't honour led license plate lights - they just shrug and inform us the brochure was incorrectly printed. Poor form VW
