We paid 30k for comfortline DSG, metallic paint and sat nav. Was happy at the time, but you always want more.
The 1.4 TSI engines (EA211) in the Mk7 Golf are a new design, so it's too early to comment on long-term reliability, but from what little feedback we have on the forums, there are currently no major issues to report.
The 1.4 TSI engines also use the same DSG unit (DQ200) as the one that's currently being recalled here and other countries, but as vdub has pointed out, the recall itself does not concern nor apply to Mk7 Golf models.

we will shop around and see what we can get , the dealer we went to on Saturday as my previous post said didn't seem to want our business , and we hadn't even started proper negotiations on prices etc...
You've experienced what many of us think about most car dealers, if not VW dealers. Here in Canberra, our options are limited, and until recently I never bother purchasing from the local dealer/s because of their attitude towards price matching. From dealers refusing to even bargain with quotes from interstate, to "drive away pricing" that are only applicable to orders only, not the stock on the showroom floor.
And that's if you get their attention, I've walked into dealerships only to be treated like an invisible person. *boggles*
Welcome to the world of car dealers If you were in Canberra, I'd happily recommended my VW salesman, just PM me
Aim for 10 percent off the RRP and try going in the last two days of the month. If they have met their sales numbers for the month, they won't budge too much but will be more receptive if they haven't.
Hey Jarryd, whereabouts was the dealer - name and shame! I found the same thing with the Mt Gravatt dealer. The sales manager was a complete #$%*@#
