Gonna say these things have done and passed QC in Germany. Should be faultless there and PDI in Aus.
Remove all coins, owners manual, water bottles etc
My Dynaudio will find all above to shake rattle and roll.

I have had an annoying vibrating sound (like a buzzing sound) but only on **** country roads. First time it sounded like the drivers side A pillar, when I held my hand on it, it stopped. Another time it sounded like behind the dash or passenger seat belt area. The couple of times I've heard it it's gone away as soon as back on city roads.
It's had the odd quirk like radio not automatically switching off when opening the door after engine off. Sometimes I'll push the stop start and the engine won't start or turn off, I think this could be me not hitting it hard or long enough.
Also sometimes when I start the car I have to push ok to get rid of the drive safe warning then other times it doesn't appear. No idea what I'm doing different for it to appear and not appear. Maybe someone can shed some light on that.
Also I hate the way the passenger wiper leaves a line directly down the centre of the driver's window even though the driver's wiper clears it, it will still leave a residue line. Little stuff I know but an annoyance.

Once I could zero in on the knee airbag it was easily fixed but before then it was a few frustrating trips back and forth
Sounds frustrating. Glad to hear it’s fixed!
My DVD case removal didn’t solve mine after all. There’s soft rattles and creaks all over. My last new Golf had neither!

I'll check out the DVD case thing, tbh the rattle is extremely light and I have to be listening for it. For the most part I don't hear it.
I get the drive safe warning as well, goodness knows why it pops up every so often.
My last Golf had some issues with the multimedia unit powering off occasionally but it actually fixed itself after a while.
Given what I read about other cars I'm really not surprised that these things happen. The cars are all built to a price and QC probably means sfa these days. Interestingly enough, I've heard more bad things happen on S3's and Audi's in general than VW's.... I would have thought it would be the opposite.
I'll check the knee airbag next time it happens, the road has to be really bad but usually with stuff like this it progressively gets worse over time, I hope it doesn't. I did run a couple of dashcam wires behind the glove box so it could also be one of those rattling about.
Is the DVD case you guys mention the one that comes with the maps sd card? Because I think I threw mine in the bin after I bought the car.
Good to know I'm not the only one with the drive safe warning. Could be worse but, in the Mrs Honda the stupid warning covers the whole infotainment and won't let you do anything until you click OK.

Yep that’s the DVD case. I’ve basically stripped the car to narrow down the rattle. Got it booked in next Wednesday with the dealer. Pretty sure it’s the soundaktor, but it seems to come from a different spot (or several spots at the same time) every time I drive.
Thankfully no “dive safe” message. Unless I subconsciously ignore it lol. You can probably turn it off?
Also, not sure if anyone else with DAP has this, but mine’s got a button at the end of the indicator stalk. Click it once and the driver assistance menu appears. Click it again and it’s off! My MY16 didn’t have that. Perfect for turning the lane guidance on and off (I hate the feeling of not having total control of the steering, that and it tends to bounce between the lines rather than keep straight, but I keep going back to see if I’ll get used to it as I know it’s a good feature)
